Three months ago, during the global pandemic that saw the Canadian government lock down,, I decided to leave home.
This trip is something I need to do.
This adventure is a major step in my life, and it’s been intense. I’ve been placed in uncomfortable new situations, yet loving every minute of it. This is how I’m discovering my gifts, and how they relate to my relationship with God.
The initial program was three short months…
I became a new person in my faith life, created new relationships and developed my character as a human. The way I looked at God transformed beyond a protector and friend. He was someone to think deeply, helping to heal me from the lies that have burdened my mind since childhood. He is a healer of not just of me, but of others.
I’ve witnessed others be healed through having passion in their life for God:being dead and then becoming alive through Christ.
Through acts of service, I am helping my local Hawiian community in simple ways, like saying hello and creating relationships with those who don’t have anyone, and are especially alone. By cleaning the community and feeding the hungry that need us the most, and spreading love through being present in the community and living life directly with the people, I’m helping and learning so much every day
I’ll be honest: my passion and vision I have for life has woken from its slumber in these three short months.
I’m finally free of society telling me what my life should be, and what I should do. I am inspired by knowing I’m doing crazy things to most people.
My goal is to go to Thailand and release children from s*x slavery.
I feel compelled to become a great leader for others, to see the reflection of what Christ was and lead in His image - life changing, radical, crazy man! Even if it means risking my life, I want to travel and spread the gospel.
I know that most people don’t want to do crazy things with their lives.
Being uncomfortable with the life they have isn’t part of the plan. Having a family and settling down is what many want. Me? I want to live a life that I will be proud of, while doing things I won’t regret. 10 years in the future I will ask myself “should I have taken the desk job”. A life of security is not something to be ashamed of, if you seek this . Some people are meant to live that lifestyle, and others have a crazy adventurous life. That last one? That’s me. I am going to do impossible, radical, unspeakable things, with God on my side.
I need your help on this journey.
Support will mean that I have a year to learn and practice skills to become a solid leader.
For every dollar that I receive, you’ll help me to continue to learn to love people, and gain new relationships with those who especially thirst for the love of Jesus.
I will be provided the opportunity to develop my skills when leading others, both within group outreach and in the field alongside my program fellows.
I am way out of my comfort zone when fundraising projects, leading classes on the Bible, and exploring the island, yet I’m learning to be a decisive leader through my experiences from this program. I am already building a foundation for what’s to come in my life, and can’t wait for the next chapter.
I know that you may be a person that might not run towards this commitment because of life’s commitments, or fear of the unknown. I’ve got you covered because you will have an impact on lives by supporting me: I’m a guy with a big dream, and a Bigger God!
