Mitchell area families, please fill out this form now to request free school supplies for August. 🙂 The Love Feast is a wonderful program that we are very fortunate to have in Mitchell. ❤️

It's that time of year again! Families with PreK-8th grade students in need of backpacks and school supplies are invited to register at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeYSo_DQAXcqYmNPbYVnVhioEWHZ_LnkVKdCdTmORkWb1oqUQ/viewform?usp=dialog

In-person sign-ups are also available at Love Feast and the Salvation Army. The deadline to be guaranteed a shoe voucher is July 31st. Backpack pickup will be August 7th & 8th.

How can you keep the learning going all summer long? ☀️Sing, dance, read together, enjoy nature, and encourage your child to work on independence. Provide chances for your child to open containers, zip, button, and so forth. 📚

June is National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month!🍃🍅🥒🥕🍏🍇🍌 Fresh veggies are the star in our Afghan Salata recipe. Try it out for an easy, refreshing addition to a meal or snack

Ingredients
• 2 cups tomatoes, diced
• 1 cup cucumber, peeled and diced
• 1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped
• ½ small red onion, diced
• 1 lime, juiced
• A few leaves of fresh chopped mint (or pinch of dried mint) (optional)
• ¼ tsp salt (optional)
Directions
1. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and serve 1/2 cup to each child.
One serving provides 1/2 cup vegetable.

Shelley is one of several Mitchell Center employees who are taking a new life path next year. We will sure miss those of you who are not returning to SCCD! We understand that people move, life happens, and sometimes we can’t keep you forever at Head Start. 😢 We will sure miss you! Thank you all for being part of the our Head Start family. ❤️
