Hey gang, Bryan Suddith here, this year's event organizer. Wanted to answer a few VERY popular questions.
1) How many team spots are available? We would love to repeat last year's number of 42 teams. There is room for 5-6 more on top of that.
2) Why did you move the date? We moved the date to coincide with the Lorain County Fairground's annual SummerFest event. Summerfest is a community event that includes live music, 4-H shows, food trucks, and in the past a local BBQ contest.
It is our hope that aligning with this event we get more exposure, a bigger prize pot and additional sponsor dollars. More dollars means more money to teams and to our dedicated charity, the Foodbank of Northeast Ohio. Look for a bigger prize purse this year and some additional activity during our weekend.
3) Will there be a Friday night ancillary? Yes. Details are coming. We are hoping to announce in March something brand new for Friday night.
4) Dessert again? Yes. But no cheesecake. While we are making some changes to the date and event this isn't one of them. We saw some awesome desserts last year.
