Meet Trooper 🐕🐾

Some dogs wear their scars on the inside. Trooper wears his on the outside—a reminder of the cruelty he survived and the strength he carries every single day.

This little 3 year-old, 12-pound guy came to us with devastating machete wounds across his abdomen and shoulder. No animal should ever have to endure that kind of pain, fear, or suffering. Trooper didn’t deserve what happened to him.

But Trooper isn’t letting his past define him. 🩵

Despite everything he’s been through, he continues to show us what resilience looks like. He greets each day with courage, a wagging tail, and a determination to heal. He is a survivor in every sense of the word.

Now Trooper needs a hero of his own. As he recovers, he urgently needs a foster, rescue, or adopter who can provide a safe place for him to rest, heal, and finally learn what love feels like.

Let’s show Trooper that his story doesn’t end with tragedy—it begins with hope. ❤️

Friends of Anson County Animal Shelter is hosting a special low-cost cat spay & neuter clinic on Monday, June 22, 2026!

✨ ALL cats must be pre-registered using the Google form below:

📍 Drop off: 7:45 AM at the shelter

💲 Pricing:
• Female cats: $100
• Pregnant females: additional $20
• Male cats: $85
• TNR (feral in trap): $85

Spaying and neutering helps reduce pet overpopulation and keeps cats healthier and happier. Spaces are limited, so please register as soon as possible! 🩵

Want to make a direct impact for a shelter dog?

We are looking for sponsors to help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries so these dogs can become adoption-ready and one step closer to finding loving homes.
