ROAR Waconia-Residents Organized Against Racism

ROAR Waconia-Residents Organized Against Racism ROAR Waconia is a grassroots organization united to fight racism in our communities and schools through education, advocacy, collaboration and celebration.

Our group believes in 4 pillars of change:

Educate: Learning is the first step to change. We strive to learn with and from the community by sharing articles and statistics, and listening to the lived experiences of people of color. Advocate: We stand in support of individuals, families and organizations experiencing racism and other forms of discrimination. We will use our collective voices and e

nergy to be allies. Collaborate: Working alongside schools, elected leaders, businesses, churches and other groups will bring long term change. Celebrate: We celebrate the success of all in our community while realizing this doesn't diminish the experiences of others. We aim to ensure that all people are able to flourish. Who We Are:
• Everyone can be a ROARIOR. Join us no matter where you are on your journey. You are welcome whether you are just learning or already have a passion for social justice.

• ROAR Waconia Area was started by individuals, family members and educators concerned about racism. We prioritize people of color and encourage others to join our leadership team. We also recognize that White people have a responsibility to fight racism. Our Background:
ROAR Waconia is an independent organization. As a group, we determine our goals, mission and action steps. ROAR112 has provided guidance and support as we work for change in our community.

Today is election day! Across the state, most ballot items are school district related. In Carver County, two schools are proposing operating levies. These will provide funding for the day-to-day costs of running a school disticstric, such as teacher and staff salaries, classroom supplies, utitlities and routine maintenance.

Since this is a special election, your polling place may be different. Check here: https://pollfinder.sos.mn.gov/
