Brave Young Voices - Waco To inspire youth to thrive through positive outlets for creative written and spoken expression.

Vision:
Grounded in the experience that Art Transforms, the Waco Youth Writing Initiative(YWI) provides writing circle workshops for youth ages 11-18 years wherein teens may discover, develop, and create discipline in the practice of written and spoken word arts. YWI workshops offer opportunities for the creative, positive expression of thoughts, ideas, questions, feelings, beliefs, and experience

s. Through their participation, youth may cultivate a deeper understanding of themselves as well as those around them resulting in stronger self-image and deepened sense of community among one another. Sponsored by the Waco Arts Intitiative, YWI strives to further the mission to create and sustain arts programming for children and youth for whom the arts are becoming extinct.
