Deer season is on a lot of minds in Wabash County right now. 🦌

From hunters heading out around Salamonie Lake and Mississinewa Lake to making a stop at & Bucks before the season, whitetail hunting is a big part of the outdoor culture in our area.

In this episode, Indiana DNR Division of Fish and Wildlife State Deer Project Leader and Biologist Dr. Joe Caudell joins Adam Stakeman and avid deer hunter and guest co-host Clint Kugler to talk about Indiana’s deer population, EHD, wildlife management, and what hunters are seeing in the field.

In this clip, Joe breaks down how EHD spreads, why drought can make outbreaks worse, and how much loss a deer population can withstand before it begins affecting the following year.
