Today, we honor Juneteenth — a day that marks freedom delayed, but not denied.

On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth stands as a powerful reminder that justice is not always immediate — and that progress requires persistence, awareness, and action.

At Red Cause Inc., we recognize that freedom is not just a historical milestone, but an ongoing responsibility. It lives in the work we do, the voices we amplify, and the communities we stand beside.

Today, we celebrate Black resilience, culture, and contributions that continue to shape our world. And we recommit ourselves to building a future rooted in equity, opportunity, and truth.

"I don't want to seem like I don't belong here." That thought keeps more healthcare students silent than any exam ever will.

In medicine and public health, the culture often rewards unshakeable confidence. From day one, future clinical and community health professionals face intense pressure to project absolute certainty. Admitting confusion, financial strain, or emotional exhaustion can feel like a major professional liability.

But this silence carries a heavy cost. Data from the American Medical Association shows that healthcare students are among the least likely to seek mental health support, despite reporting higher rates of burnout than the general student population.

At Red Cause Inc., we want to change this narrative. Our work supporting future health leaders is built on the belief that building healthier, stronger communities across Texas starts with caring for the people who will lead them. Our scholarship program is designed to stand in your corner, validating the real struggles you face behind closed doors.
