HIV treatment has changed so dramatically that a diagnosis today can look completely different from what it meant a few decades ago. With effective antiretroviral therapy, people living with HIV can suppress the virus, protect their immune system and live long, healthy lives.

ART doesn’t remove HIV from the body. Instead, it stops the virus from making new copies of itself. For most people taking treatment as prescribed, the amount of virus can fall to an undetectable level, often within six months. Treatment must continue because HIV can rebound if medication is stopped.

And there is another extraordinary part of this progress: U=U, or “Undetectable = Untransmittable.” Large studies have established that someone who maintains an undetectable viral load has zero risk of transmitting HIV to a sexual partner. This has transformed HIV treatment into one of our most powerful forms of HIV prevention as well.

So the important distinction is that HIV still has no widely available cure, but modern medicine has turned it from an infection that once commonly progressed to AIDS and early death into a manageable chronic condition for people who can access and remain on effective treatment.

It’s one of the biggest medical transformations of the last few decades: not eliminating the virus, but learning how to control it so effectively that people can remain healthy while also preventing sexual transmission.

Red Cause Inc. is making a $250 emergency donation to the San Antonio Food Bank in response to the recent storm and power outages. This gift will help provide approximately 1,750 meals to San Antonio families and neighbors in need.

Today, we say goodbye to a woman whose light reached far beyond music.

Dolly Parton. 💔🕊️

Dolly was more than a legendary singer, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, and entertainer. She was a reminder that you can come from humble beginnings, dream bigger than your circumstances, and still choose kindness along the way.

Her voice gave us songs that became part of our lives. Her humor made us smile. Her authenticity made her unforgettable. But perhaps her greatest legacy was the way she used her success to give back—to children, families, communities, and people who simply needed someone to believe in them.

That is a legacy we deeply understand at Red Cause Inc.

Red Cause Inc. has officially canceled plans to act as a founding sponsor for the Banquete Youth Association (BYA) and we have withdrawn our proposed $5,000 allocation from our 2027 budget, effective immediately.

As a registered nonprofit, Red Cause Inc. operates under strict legal and fiduciary duties to our donors. We are legally required to ensure that any partner group we support has a finalized corporate structure, formally adopted bylaws, and standard institutional financial controls. Because these essential benchmarks are not in place at BYA, we cannot responsibly move forward with this partnership.

We remain deeply committed to investing in youth initiatives and look forward to reallocating these founding sponsor resources to fully compliant community programs. We wish the children of Banquete a safe and successful football season.
