Hiring for a Registered Nurse – Vascular Access Specialist at Valley Children's Hospital
The Vascular Access Specialist a licensed Registered Nurse who is accountable to assess and identify the vascular access needs of the patient, coordinate and provide services for peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) placement in the hospital setting and for outpatient referrals, and to serve as a resource to staff for ongoing monitoring, maintenance and management of potential catheter-related complications. This position practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Children's policies.
Requirements:
• Active California RN License
• Graduation from an accredited RN program
• Bachelor's degree preferred (BSN desirable)
• Minimum 2 years full time or equivalent nursing experience, pediatric experience is preferred
• PICC Certification highly desirable
• Bilingual skills preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within 30 days of hire or transfer into the position
