ND Behind the Scenes 🎬💗

Balloons ✅ Windows ✅ Hearts full ✅

Some of our awesome college interns showed up to prep pink decor for Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Houston. Then they jumped in to make our Community Center windows shine. Grateful for this crew!

📣 There’s a lot of CHEER happening at the Neighborhood Community Center! 💚🐻

The Houston School cheer team has been busy practicing, led by two of our amazing college interns!

We love seeing our college students step into leadership and pour into the students coming behind them. From learning cheers to building confidence and connection, this is what growing together looks like. ✨

We can’t wait to see these girls in action! 📣👏

Big hearts, bold ideas, and plenty of fun! Our 6th Grade Leadership Club kicked off the year with games, getting to know each other, the 7 Habits, and they’re already serving their school by planning dress-up days and cheering on great attendance! Swipe through to see them in action! 💚🐻✨

First day of the Houston Neighborhood Soccer League is in the books, and it did not disappoint! ⚽

Some players were brand new to the game, others came ready to show off their skills, and the energy on the field was awesome to watch!

Thank you to all of our players, parents, and coaches for making it a great start to the season!

A huge shoutout to Visalia Waterslide Rentals for your sponsorship and donating a soccer ball to every single player in the league! Every kid got to take one home after the first game, and we’re so grateful for your support of this community. 🙌

Here’s to a great season ahead. See you all next week!

There’s something pretty special about seeing these rooms full. 🤍

After months of planning, preparing, building and dreaming about what would happen inside our new Community Center, programs are officially underway!

Our 5th grade Lunch Buddies were some of the first to fill these rooms, spending their lunch hour connecting with caring adult mentors, having fun and knowing there are people in their corner.

This is what we built it for!

Tonight was one for the books. 🍕✨

Our Neighborhood Degree volunteers packed the room for training night — mentors, lunch buddies, soccer coaches, and youth night crew — all showing up ready to invest in the next generation of Houston School students in our Kinder - Career Pathway!

We had big plans to break in our brand-new Community Center for this one, but a last-minute power outage had other ideas. Grateful for a group of volunteers who rolled with the change without missing a beat. 🙌

Because showing up for kids isn’t always convenient — and you said yes anyway.

Huge thank you to You-Be’s Pizza, Visalia for keeping the whole crew fed! 🍕

To every volunteer in that room: our students are lucky to have you in their corner this year. Here’s to an amazing year! Let’s go!!

We’re still all smiles thinking about our Grand Opening and the incredible community support we felt that morning! Thank you to the community leaders, Neighborhood Church family, and neighbors who showed up to celebrate with us. This is what it looks like when a community shows up for its kids. And we’re just getting started!

A huge THANK YOU to Visalia Rotary for showing up big at Houston School’s Back to School Night! 🌭

From flipping hot dogs to sharing high-fives, our Rotary friends helped us kick off the school year with food, fun, and the friendliest smiles around. Thank you for celebrating our students and families and for reminding our whole community what it means to show up for our kids.

Welcome back, Houston School — we’re rooting for you! 💚🐻
