Tonight was one for the books. 🍕✨

Our Neighborhood Degree volunteers packed the room for training night — mentors, lunch buddies, soccer coaches, and youth night crew — all showing up ready to invest in the next generation of Houston School students in our Kinder - Career Pathway!

We had big plans to break in our brand-new Community Center for this one, but a last-minute power outage had other ideas. Grateful for a group of volunteers who rolled with the change without missing a beat. 🙌

Because showing up for kids isn’t always convenient — and you said yes anyway.

Huge thank you to You-Be’s Pizza, Visalia for keeping the whole crew fed! 🍕

To every volunteer in that room: our students are lucky to have you in their corner this year. Here’s to an amazing year! Let’s go!!

We’re still all smiles thinking about our Grand Opening and the incredible community support we felt that morning! Thank you to the community leaders, Neighborhood Church family, and neighbors who showed up to celebrate with us. This is what it looks like when a community shows up for its kids. And we’re just getting started!

A huge THANK YOU to Visalia Rotary for showing up big at Houston School’s Back to School Night! 🌭

From flipping hot dogs to sharing high-fives, our Rotary friends helped us kick off the school year with food, fun, and the friendliest smiles around. Thank you for celebrating our students and families and for reminding our whole community what it means to show up for our kids.

In anticipation of our Grand Opening this Saturday, we got to give a tour to some of our community leaders and thank some of the donors who made it possible! We hope you’ll join us this Saturday, August 8th at 9am for the big celebration! 🎉

Such a fun evening with Visalia Sunset Rotary! We loved having the opportunity to share about Neighborhood Degree and all that’s ahead for the Neighborhood Community Center.

We were also incredibly thankful to receive a $27,500 grant from the Rotary Foundation Visalia Rotary Foundation to help furnish the Community Center. What an amazing investment in the work happening here in Visalia!

Thank you, Rotary, for your generosity, encouragement, and partnership. We are so grateful for your support as we continue connecting neighbors to learn together and expand networks to end poverty.

Registration is officially open for our Houston Neighborhood Soccer League! ⚽

Whether your kid is ready to show off some skills or just wants to run around and make new friends, this season is for them.

Here’s the lineup:
📅 Saturdays, Sept 19 - Oct 24
⏰ Saturday mornings
📍 Houston Park
⚽ 4v4 league
👟 K-4th grade, boys and girls
💵 $25/kid, includes jersey, shorts and socks

We’re also looking for volunteer coaches. Coach a season and your kid plays free (use code COACH at checkout).
