Celebrate freedom, community, and civic engagement with the VB Dems at Portsmouth's Juneteenth Freedom Day Festival. Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and invites us to reflect on our history while celebrating freedom and progress. Join us as we engage festival attendees, share information about getting involved, and build meaningful community connections.

Volunteer activities include: booth setup (first shift), community outreach and engagement, voter and civic participation education, and welcoming and assisting attendees. Thank you for helping create a welcoming, informative, and impactful VBDC presence at this important community celebration.

Get out there with a COVA Coalition Street Team to talk to voters at community events and show people that the resistance is alive and well! We'll share educational materials and discuss why it's important to vote "yes" on the 3 amendments to the Virginia Constitution that will be on the ballot this November; show people how to register to vote or check/update their voter registration on their phones; give out stickers; and encourage others to find their voice, take action, and protect democracy.

We will brief on the content and importance of the 3 amendments, train you on how to engage people, and provide you with the materials needed (flyers, QR Codes on a clipboard, etc.).
