This week is the National Week of Action Against School Pushout, organized by the Dignity in Schools Campaign.

The core message is simple and urgent: public schools are here to serve everyone. But this week is about more than one policy. It's about confronting the whole set of systems that push students, especially the most vulnerable ones, out of the classrooms they should be thriving in.

Over the next several days, we'll be doing a deep dive into the platform that drives our campaign. We hope you'll follow along, share what resonates, and find a way to plug in locally.

THEY CALLED US DIFFICULT
Black Parents. Children with Disabilities. The Fight to Be Heard.

As part of our Dignity in Schools Campaign Week of Action, Advocating 4 Kids, Inc. will launch a podcast documentary series that centers the voices and lived experiences of Black parents advocating for their children with disabilities.

Featuring 8–10 Black parents and caregivers across 4–6 episodes, the series will share their experiences seeking services, supports, and educational opportunities, and the love and determination behind their advocacy.

At Advocating While Black Summit™, the work happened around tables as much as it did on the stage.

Because advocacy does not grow in isolation.

It grows when people have space to learn from one another, test ideas, exchange resources, and realize they do not have to carry every question alone.

Questions. Connection. Collaboration.

What happens in the room continues beyond it.

Practicing it before the next difficult conversation is another.

That is what The Response Room was about at Advocating While Black Summit™.

Attendees had space to think through language, questions, next moves, and the kinds of conversations that happen when advocacy gets difficult.

Not just theory.

Not just notes.

Practice. Strategy. Application.

Because the goal was never for people to leave inspired for a weekend.

The goal was for them to leave better prepared for the next email, meeting, disagreement, question, and decision.
