Jesus didn't build His team by recruiting one kind of man. His disciples came from remarkably different backgrounds—fishermen, a tax collector, a Zealot, and other ordinary men.

Yet these men were drawn to the same Man.

Why?

Jesus gave them a mission bigger than themselves. He challenged them instead of entertaining them. He spoke with conviction and authority. He believed ordinary men could become extraordinary. And He modeled a biblical manhood marked by courage, holiness, humility, and servant leadership.

The lesson for the church is worth considering: Men are still looking for a challenge worthy of their strength, a purpose worthy of their sacrifice, and a Savior worthy of their complete devotion.

Marriage is something we have to be intentional about.

It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and let the things that matter most take a backseat. Sometimes we need to slow down, refocus, and allow God to work in our marriages.

That’s one of the things we love about the Couples Prayer Advance! The speakers will be touching on some really important topics, including:

A covenant to keep — understanding the meaning of marriage.

An alignment to follow — learning how God designed marriage to work.

A closeness to cultivate — recognizing and overcoming the distractions that pull us apart.

A restoration to pursue — learning how to make things right when things have gone wrong.

A priority to protect — keeping the right things at the center of our marriage.

A commitment to guard — addressing the things we’ve left unresolved.

No matter what season of marriage you’re in, there’s something meaningful about taking the time to grow together, seek the Lord together, and be reminded of what marriage is meant to be.

Our marriages are worth being intentional about.
