CVAC - Citizens/ Veterans Advisory Committee

CVAC - Citizens/ Veterans Advisory Committee Citizens/Veterans Advisory Council (CVAC) was created to help veterans and their families. CVAC is there as one of the organizations to help.

We are a team of veteran and citizen volunteers dedicated to making a difference in the lives of veterans and their families in Cape May County. We have positioned our website as a “one-stop shop,” designed to easily identify available resources. Our veterans re-enter a world very different from what they experienced in combat. As they re-enter civilian life they often need a helping hand in a var

iety of different arenas. We can provide immediate assistance, as well as offer guidance for a variety of long-term needs. We welcome anyone who wants to join our group of 40 volunteers by contributing to the various committees we have set-up to help our returning military and their families (please contact our Chairman Johnnie Walker for volunteering options at 609-425-8608 or at [email protected]). Along the left side of our website menu, the committees available for volunteering opportunities are listed–communication, accessing VA benefits, healthcare resources, housing and case management, resiliency and reintegration, fundraising, and transportation. Under the committee tab, you will find the name of the chair of each committee, along with contact information and a brief description of the committee focus. There are also three other resource tabs–basic needs, criminal justice, and local veteran organizations. You will likewise notice the site contains the tabs–history of CVAC and officers of CVAC. We recognize and appreciate the sacrifices that have been made by our veterans and their families, as well as the challenges they face back on the home front. It is our turn to give something back to them. We love helping veterans and their families; will you please join us in contributing to our neighbors in Cape May County?

Last week, CVAC (Citizen Veterans Advisory Committee) participated in the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit Summit. Each year, CVAC supports 25 to 30 veterans with urgent financial needs in Cape May County. We have been proudly servicing the Veterans Community for 13 years and have donated over $300,000.

CVAC would like to express our deep appreciation and gratitude for the many Veterans who have served our country through the years. We are honored to be able to help our local Veterans everyday, but especially on Veterans Day - and what a better way to show your thanks, than by joining our movement and becoming an active part of the solution…Click the link below to learn more!
