🎈🐈‍⬛ 5 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 🐈‍⬛🎈

Every year, One Neighborhood Foundation gets the honor of carrying the giant Black Cat balloon in the Vienna Halloween Parade! 🧡🎃

Our balloon follows all the kiddos walking in the parade, and this year we’re looking for 5 adults to walk the approximately 1.5-mile parade route and represent ONF!

Because the balloon can get a little heavy, our official balloon handlers do need to be adults — but kids are absolutely welcome to walk alongside us! 🥰

It’s such a fun Vienna tradition and an awesome way to represent One Neighborhood Foundation in our community.

Anyone want to join us?! 🙋‍♀️🐈‍⬛🎈🧡

Our local sound healing friend Paloma (Paloma | Women 40+ Yoga & Sound Bath Oakton) is bringing her Slumber Soundscape back to Mattress Warehouse on Maple Ave in Vienna, VA! 🧘🏽‍♀️🎶

It was so popular, she just announced a Halloween edition! 🎃👻

Spend an hour cozied up on a queen bed while Paloma fills the room with singing bowls, chimes and calming sounds designed to help you completely unwind and reset. ✨

And we love this part — a portion of every ticket sold will benefit One Neighborhood Foundation! 💚

🗓️ Sunday, October 25
⏰ 6–7 PM
📍 Mattress Warehouse of Vienna — Maple Ave

Wear your favorite cozy Halloween PJs or comfy costume, grab a pillow + blanket and come relax! 🎃🛏️✨

💐 Friendly reminder — this beautiful collaboration with local business Karin's Florist & Gifts is happening NOW!

All October long, we’re celebrating 70 incredible years of Karin’s Florist & Gifts with two specially designed bouquets benefiting One Neighborhood Foundation. 💚🌷

For seven decades, Karin’s has been part of so many of our community’s celebrations, milestones and meaningful moments, and we’re incredibly honored that they chose to give back to ONF as part of their 70th anniversary celebration. 🥰🌸

If flowers are in your plans this month — for someone special, a celebration, a thank-you, or simply to brighten your own home — consider choosing one of the special ONF bouquets. 🌺

A portion of the proceeds supports the work we do for our community. 🫶🪻

Here’s to 70 years of flowers, kindness + community! 🌹❤️

Happy October! 🍂 We’re off to a beautiful start! 🧡

A huge thank you to Long & Foster (Long & Foster Vienna Tysons) for recently collecting an incredible amount of items through their food drive benefiting One Neighborhood Foundation — along with several generous monetary donations! 🥫💌

And a special thank you to sweet broker Fetneh Schacht (Fetneh H. Schacht), who is always finding ways to support local nonprofits and give back throughout our community. 🫶

ONF is so honored and grateful to have the support of you and your entire office. Thank you for helping us continue to help our neighbors! ❤️

All of these items were distributed to food insecure families in the Madison pyramid schools. 💕

On Saturday, a handful of the people who help keep One Neighborhood Foundation moving behind the scenes gathered for a little appreciation dinner at the home of one of our incredible coordinators, Lauren Stancampiano. ❤️

These are some of our community “plotters” — the people who, anytime our nonprofit says, “We have an idea…” or “We need help…” somehow make it happen in the snap of a finger. 🥹

And one VERY special shoutout goes to Judi Medwedeff, who has taken on the enormous responsibility of keeping One Neighborhood organized behind the scenes — managing our files, accounts and accounting, and helping us keep all the pieces together.

There truly are no words for how much we appreciate her. What she has taken on for this organization is HUGE, and she does it all because she believes in the work and in our community. 🥹

So much of what a nonprofit accomplishes publicly is only possible because of the people quietly doing the work behind the scenes.

Thank you, Lauren, Judi and all of our wonderful community plotters. 💕

Every one of these friends who helps is 100% volunteer — no one is compensated for their time. And beyond giving countless hours, so many of them are also spending their own money, making personal contributions and stepping in wherever needed to help us reach our goals and serve our community.

They give their time, their talents, their resources and so much of their hearts to this work. 🥲

We appreciate you more than you know! 🫶

If you’re heading to Vienna Oktoberfest (Vienna Oktoberfest) this weekend and have a new Halloween costume to donate, local practice Whole Body Health Chiropractic (Vienna, Va) has generously offered to be a collection spot! 🎃🧡

✨ HALLOWEEN COSTUME DRIVE
• NEW, UNOPENED costumes only
• Ages 1–12
• Drop off at the Whole Body Health Chiropractic booth
• This Saturday at Vienna Oktoberfest!

One Neighborhood Foundation (One Neighborhood Foundation｜NonProfit) will then distribute the costumes to Fairfax County Public Schools social workers who are helping food-insecure families on very tight budgets. ❤️

A simple costume can help a local child have a happy Halloween! Thanks for your consideration. 🫶🎃👻🧡
