This past Saturday, the Hawthorn Key to 73 Foundation hosted its annual Holiday Toy Drive, and the impact was truly incredible.

This year, the drive served more than 300 students—an unprecedented number. Just as remarkable was the overwhelming generosity from our community, with an unprecedented number of donations making it all possible.

A heartfelt thank-you to the many Hawthorn volunteers who stepped in to help wrap gifts and spread holiday cheer. Your support made a meaningful difference for so many families.

🎁 It’s Giving Tuesday, Foundation Friends! 🎁
Today is all about giving back — and we’re inviting our community to help us bring joy to 300+ Hawthorn students this holiday season.

Thanks to Race to Restock, we received generous monetary donations that will help us restock our food pantry before Winter Break. Our shelves are low after the Thanksgiving Drive — a good problem to have, because it means food went directly into the hands of families who needed it most. 🙌💛 However, we still need your help collecting toys to ensure every child receives something special this season.

We start this holiday season with gratitude.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our community, we were able to support 90 families this Thanksgiving. Because of your food and monetary donations, each family received a turkey, a full food package, and additional support through our pantry—ensuring that their holiday table was full.

To every community member who donated: thank you for showing what compassion looks like in action. And to our incredible volunteers, your time, energy, and heart made this effort possible. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to serving others.

We’ve had an absolutely amazing outpouring of support in our Race to Restock campaign!

From generous monetary donations to overflowing food boxes at our schools, our Hawthorn community has come together in a big way. The Hawthorn Food Pantry has received a record number of requests this year, and seeing our families, staff, and students rally to help restock the shelves has been truly inspiring. 🥫🦅

The Race to Restock is off to a great start! As of this morning, we’ve raised $3977.41 from 48 supporters! 🎉

Breaking news from Hawthorn School of Dual Language! There's a new principal in town. Second grader Emmy stepped into the role as Principal for the Day. She had a rigorous schedule—visiting classrooms to ensure active learning, reading one of her favorite books to Dual kindergarteners, and handing out Eagle Bucks to students who were on task.
