What an awesome day of civic engagement for scouts from three troops! 🤩 We got to explore the Ventura County Courthouse, a really historic and impressive spot. It was so cool to see where justice happens! Then, our scouts dove into mock trial, which was a fantastic way to learn about the legal system. The scouts had a great time.

🧦❄️ Sock Snowball Chaos Alert! ❄️🧦

Our Girl Scouts from Troop 61105 went all out in their 11th annual Holiday Sock Ball Fight and this year they collected over 300 pairs of socks! 🙌💖

Flying socks, joyous laughter, and total holiday mayhem… and the best part? Every pair of socks gets paired back up and donated to local charities to keep feet warm this season. ❤️

Who knew donating during the holidays could be this wild and fun? 🎅✨

“Today’s work is the history of tomorrow, and we are its makers.” —Juliette Gordon Low

Born in 1860, Low created Girl Scouts, an organization that would empower millions of girls to become leaders and change makers. After meeting Lord Baden-Powell, founder of the Boy Scouts, during her time living in England, Low became inspired to bring a similar movement to American girls. She organized the first Girl Scout meeting on March 12, 1912, with 18 girls in Savannah, Georgia, calling them the “Girl Guides.” Low, like many female reformers, believed girls deserved the same opportunities as boys to develop practical skills, self-reliance, and leadership abilities.

Despite facing personal challenges including significant hearing loss and financial difficulties, she dedicated her fortune and energy to growing the organization nationwide. By the time of her death in 1927, Girl Scouts had grown to nearly 100,000 members.

The Girl Scouts of the USA have served over 50 million alumnae, a lasting testament to Low’s revolutionary vision that girls can do anything.

Troop 61105 Junior Girl Scouts Build a Seed Library for the Cornucopia Community Garden

In September, several of our Junior Girl Scouts completed the design and construction of a Seed Library for the Cornucopia Community Garden. This project allowed the girls to combine creativity, teamwork, and environmental stewardship while giving back to their community in a lasting way.

We are so proud of Kyleigh, Cora, Molly, Holly, Dillon, Sienna, and Destiny for their dedication and hard work throughout this project.

A heartfelt thank-you also goes out to our leaders and families for their support and guidance, helping our Scouts bring this meaningful project to life.
