Hey Teachers, Administrators and Parents.

We have 500 sifters to decorate!

Homeowners will be sifting through the ashes of their homes during their darkest hours and these small messages can be incredibly uplifting. Plus, I am buying pizza for whatever class decorates sifters the best, but you have to invite me 😎.

Thank you to kindergarten teacher Torrey at Junipero Serra Elementary School in Ventura for taking 40 sifters! Can't wait to see them.

Hey Community:

Ready to step up again?

Ventura County locals Yuliana Arias and her husband Jerry were raised in Oxnard. They had been working and saving their whole life for their dream home.

6 months before the Mountain Fire, they found a home on Old Coach Road. It was a "fixer upper." They loved the neighborhood. It was safe. It had good schools. Their three young daughters, ages 13, 9 and 7 could ride their bikes in the street.

They bought their dream home. They moved in and started fixing it up. Their parents came over and tore out bushes, repainted walls. If you've done that (most of us have) you know the deal.

Yuliana loves to cook and sew. She and her daughters made homemade cake pops and brought them to the elderly neighbors.

The Mountain Fire hit. It took, literally, everything they owned. Jerry is a plumber and soccer coach for his girls. He (like me) loves to camp. He likes the Raiders and Dodgers.

Their Amazon wish list is in the comments below. I don't think you will find sewing, cooking, camping or raiders or Dodgers gear. This family is too proud. I had to plead with them to let us help.

So let's do it. Lift this family up. Spoil the hell out of them and their daughters. When the daughters come home for the first time, let's have some new bikes in the driveway and maybe a jersey for Jerry.
