Today, District 7 Commander Paragon conducted the Installation and Induction Ceremony for the newly elected officers of Wallace Chaffee VFW Post 1679.

These dedicated Comrades have been entrusted by the membership to lead and represent our Post during the upcoming year. We congratulate the following officers on their election and induction:

🇺🇸 Post Commander – Don Miller
🇺🇸 Senior Vice Commander – David Paquette
🇺🇸 Junior Vice Commander – Mike Lenwell
🇺🇸 Quartermaster – Jeremy Harman

We extend our sincere appreciation to District 7 Commander Paragon for presiding over today's ceremony and for his continued support of our Post.

While these officers have now been formally inducted, they will not officially assume their respective positions until the installation of the new Department of California leadership, in accordance with the Veterans of Foreign Wars National By-Laws.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our outgoing officers for their guidance, leadership, dedication, and commitment to Wallace Chaffee VFW Post 1679 over the past year. Your service has helped strengthen our Post and our mission of serving veterans, their families, and our community.

For all you folks that prefer a good ol’ ball cap over the regulation overseas cap, you’re in luck! 🧢👍🏼 A new official alternative cap was authorized last Fall that you can wear to post or district meetings (except officers…sorry guys) and other events, in lieu of the overseas cap. https://www.vfwstore.org/products/32875

Today we commemorate the 82nd anniversary of D-Day. We honor the bravery and sacrifice of the Allied troops on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944, a day that forever changed the course of history. May we never forget their courage and heroism.
