The beloved nurse navigator Cynthia at Antelope Valley Medical Center in Los Angeles County, California, helps prepare food boxes for individual’s undergoing cancer treatment. These food boxes support about 60 individuals each month with nutritious food from all major food groups.

Sometimes care looks like treatment plans.
Sometimes it looks like a heart-shaped potato tucked into a food box.

Because cancer care isn’t just clinical, it’s human. 🩵

Inside every bag:

💌 A handwritten card reminding them they are not alone

Every item is chosen with care to bring a moment of comfort, dignity, and hope to someone facing cancer.

As part of our cancer support program, we are currently working to support a summer camp here in Southern California. This camp is for youth who have a parent who is navigating a cancer diagnosis. This camp brings youth together to build connections with other youth who have this unfortunate shared experience. If you’d like to donate, please message us. Thank you!

How was KaIND created? The idea of KaIND all started from a conversation on an airplane. Amanda and Kyle met sitting next to each other on that airplane in October 2022. They started connecting through their link to cancer, but they discovered a lot more about each other’s interests and desires to give back. Since then, KaIND Giving has been evolving. Hi friends, here is a KaINDNESS moment from our First Responder Support Program. We at KaIND are honored to partner with Calizona Labs who breed service quality Labrador Retrievers for special needs families and veterans. Calizona Labs tries to do an annual Christmas puppy give away and this year Calizona Labs opened up the Christmas puppy give away to anyone in need! Here at KaIND we nominated a First Responder Family we knew of who were looking for a Labrador puppy.

Meet the Felipe Family. Andrew (pictured here) is currently an active duty Hospital Corpsman with the United States Navy who put the advancement of his Navy career on hold in the Fall of 2022 when he and the family unexpectedly lost their father and husband. The Felipe family not only lost one of the most important people in their lives, but they lost their beloved dog as well, the same year. Mom is also a First Responder and works as a nurse.

It has been a difficult year for the Felipe family, and Andrew has stepped up to assist his mom in caring for his 3 younger siblings and their needs too. We at KaIND and Calizona Labs are honored to support the Felipe family with the love, companionship, and support of a Lab. Andrew and family have selected which puppy they want, have been watching their puppy grow and develop, and will be receiving their puppy in a few weeks so stay tuned for updates!

Thank you Calizona labs for your support and collaboration. Thank you to the Felipe family for allowing us all to support you and share your story.

Hi all, exciting news to share here! In honor of my birthday this year, I am officially launching my nonprofit KaIND (named after my beloved Kai), also known as KaIND Giving. KaIND will be working and operating in partnership with another nonprofit, RAKlife. Our missions focus on performing random acts of kindness and inspiring kindness in our communities. We have 4 programs we will be working on. A cancer support fund to support the cancer communities needs, a first responder support fund to support the first responder communities needs, a global support fund to support global health efforts, and a random acts of kindness fund to spread kindness in our communities. If you would like to support all the efforts I and my team are passionate about, please donate here https://give.raklife.org/KaIND. Here you can select which fund you would like to donate too. 100% of donations go towards our mission and programs and your donations are tax deductible. I am beyond thrilled to be able to continue to dedicate my life and time to what I am most passionate about. Thank you all for your support, looking forward to sharing this work alongside all of you. Please reach out if you have any questions. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Support KaIND Giving to inspire kindness by providing access to supportive services and funding for community-based needs. KaIND is fiscally sponsored by RAKlife so your donation is tax deductible.
