As we move into a new month, we'd like to take a moment to recognize and celebrate Linda Collins, who was voted our May FIERCE Woman of the Month!

May's theme, "Women Who Serve: Veterans, Active Duty & Memorial Support," honored remarkable women whose dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to serving others make a lasting impact on our communities. Linda's story inspired our readers, and with their support, she earned the title of May FIERCE Woman of the Month.

We are incredibly grateful to Linda and all of our May nominees for sharing their stories and representing the values of service, leadership, compassion, and strength.

This June, we proudly recognize and celebrate women who help create the moments, memories, and experiences that bring our communities together. From event planners and photographers to florists, venue professionals, coordinators, and creatives behind the scenes, these women pour their passion, talent, and dedication into making life's most meaningful celebrations possible.

🎉 Caitlin Barrett – A Port Charlotte native and Chief of Creativity/Director of Events for the Charlotte-DeSoto Building Industry Association, Caitlin manages nearly 200 events and fundraisers each year while attending college online. Her creativity, energy, and dedication help make a lasting impact throughout our community.

📸 Caitlin Keller – As the Sales & Catering Director at Hotel Venezia, Caitlin has spent nearly a decade helping create memorable events throughout our community. Starting in the hospitality industry at just 15 years old, she built her career through determination, hard work, and a passion for bringing people together. Her drive, discipline, and commitment make her a true FIERCE nominee.

📷 Courtney Fontenot – Founder of Courtney Nicole Photography, Courtney turned her passion into a thriving business after moving to Southwest Florida. Through weddings, family portraits, and empowering bo***ir sessions, she creates lasting memories while helping others see their beauty, confidence, and strength.

🌸 Kerri Ducharme-Tyree – Owner of A Vermont Touch, Kerri transformed a floral business idea into a lifelong career. After bringing her talents to Southwest Florida, she built a loyal following through creativity, exceptional service, and a deep commitment to the community she now calls home.

⭐ Ashley Abbott – Army veteran Ashley Abbott recently shared a meaningful Honor Flight experience with her father, a retired Colonel and Vietnam veteran, while continuing to advocate for veterans and the importance of honoring their service.

⭐ Cathy Cornish – After returning to college at 50 years old, Cathy found her calling helping families through end-of-life services and now supports veterans, the homeless, and the community through her work.

⭐ Cordy Crane – U.S. Air Force veteran Cordy Crane chose military service as a path to growth and purpose, carrying those lessons of discipline and leadership into her work in the community today.

⭐ Linda Collins – Navy veteran Linda Collins served for 24 years as a hospital corpsman, including during Desert Shield and Desert Storm, dedicating her life to caring for others across the country.

Cathy has dedicated her life to helping families during some of their most difficult moments, turning kindness and compassion into her life’s mission. ❤️
