Welcome to Alleycat Abode, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to feline rescue in Hampton County and surrounding areas.
Hi, I’m Robin Plummer, and I own and operate Alleycat Abode. We opened in December 2024 and hit the ground running — so fast, in fact, that we never got around to a proper introduction until now!
Our focus is on abandoned kittens who need medical attention, bottle babies, and feral feline rehabilitation. Rehabilitating feral cats takes patience and time, but it is absolutely possible — and we’re committed to giving every cat a safe place to experience love, comfort, food, and medical care.
Our community is overwhelmed with feline overpopulation, and our long-term dream is to open a dedicated sanctuary where feral cats can live safely while we work to provide lifelong care. Every donation and volunteer hour brings us closer to making that a reality.
We currently have 28 animals, 25 of them kittens. Here’s a snapshot of some currently in our care:
• 4 bottle babies requiring around-the-clock feeding
• 2 kittens needing eye removal surgery (enucleation)
• 6 kittens being treated for upper respiratory issues
• The remaining kittens are in good health and receiving their first vaccines and deworming
Among our 3 adult cats is Batman — a sweet boy found in a Food Lion parking lot as a kitten. He came to us with a dislocated hip and a severe upper respiratory infection. He’s doing amazing now and just wants to be held and loved all day.
We also have a mama cat currently nursing 3 kittens. Once she’s done nursing, she’ll be spayed and receive a full medical workup. Our third adult cat is battling a severe upper respiratory infection and is undergoing treatment — we’re hopeful she’ll be healthy enough to be spayed soon.
Alleycat Abode runs entirely on donations and volunteer time. There are several ways to support us:
