There is nothing quite like hearing directly from the students we serve through our Operation School Bell® program.

These handwritten notes remind us why we do what we do. Every kind word, drawing, and heartfelt message is a reminder that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in a child's life.

Thank you to the students who took the time to share their gratitude. Your notes brought smiles to our faces and warmth to our hearts.

Unaccompanied youth are widely recognized as a high-need population and are often undercounted, as many avoid shelters and formal support systems. To better reach these students, Assistance League of Southwest Washington partners with the Unaccompanied Youth Coordinator for Evergreen Public Schools. They respond directly to urgent needs, such as clothing, hygiene supplies, bedding, food, and household items and personally delivers them to students across 5 middle schools and 2 high schools.

If you would like to support our efforts in helping unaccompanied youth in Southwest Washington, please visit our website to make a donation. https://alswwa.org/donate/

Pride Month reminds us that strong communities are built through acceptance, compassion, and action. Thanks to our volunteers and supporters, ALSW helps provide clothing, hygiene items, school supplies, and other essentials to youth who need them most, including unhoused or unaccompanied minors and kids in foster care. Together, we're helping create a community where every young person feels supported.

Public schools in Clark County, Washington estimate nearly 3,000 students are unhoused - living in shelters, cars, motels, outdoors, or temporarily staying with other families after losing stable housing. After hearing firsthand accounts from Family Resource Coordinators at Vancouver Public Schools, Assistance League of Southwest Washington recognized an opportunity to help. Beginning with a modest effort and a vision for growth, we launched Bags of Basics to support these teens in a meaningful way.

If you would like to join us in supporting local students, please consider making a donation. https://alswwa.org/donate/
