ERSM was proud to sponsor the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington Co****le Tournament Fundraiser and to donate a basket in support of the event.

For our president, Aaron Gibson, supporting this organization is personal. While attending school full-time, working nights and weekends for barely more than minimum wage, and raising two young children, making ends meet was not easy. The Boys & Girls Club provided affordable before and after school care and summer programs, giving his children a safe place to go while helping his entire family get through a challenging time.

Organizations like this make a real difference for local families. We’re grateful to be in a position to give back to a program that was once there for Aaron and his children when they needed it most.

Thank you to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington for the work you continue to do for kids and families throughout our community.

Habitat monitoring season is in full swing!

Britta, one of our restoration ecologists and wildlife biologists, has been busy in the field evaluating vegetation, documenting site conditions, and preparing monitoring reports.

This work allows us to track how each restoration site is progressing, identify areas that may need attention, and make sure the habitat continues moving in the right direction.

Monitoring is an important part of successful restoration—it helps turn the work completed today into healthy, functioning habitat for years to come.

WE’RE HIRING: STORMWATER MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

ERSM is looking for a dependable, hardworking team member to join us in Vancouver, Washington.

This full-time, seasonal field position pays $21–$23 per hour, depending on experience, with the potential to become a long-term role.

What you’ll do:

🌧️ Maintain and inspect stormwater facilities
🌿 Perform mowing and vegetation management
🛠️ Remove sediment, debris, and blockages
🚛 Assist with vacuum truck operations
💧 Clean catch basins, vaults, and other stormwater structures
📝 Complete maintenance logs and inspection reports

Experience in stormwater maintenance, landscaping, public works, or equipment operation is preferred—but we’re willing to train the right person. A valid driver’s license is required.

Join a team doing meaningful outdoor work that protects water quality and critical community infrastructure.

The ERSM team has been putting in some serious work during our busiest season cleaning stormwater facilities, installing a ton of erosion control, managing invasive weeds, and handling everything else that comes our way.

They earned a chance to step away, relax, enjoy some great food, throw a few axes, and have fun together on company time and on the company dime!

A few teammates couldn’t join us, but their hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed. We’ll make sure they get some well deserved appreciation too.

ERSM was proud to be part SWCA Construction Summer Camp and giving a hands on look at stormwater work!

As a lunch sponsor, we brought our hydro excavator and showed campers what a catch basin is, how it’s cleaned, and why routine maintenance matters. Equipment Operator Orion Gallegos led the demonstration, while Raechel Burke from our Safety team helped keep the activity safe and engaging.

Clean stormwater systems help keep pollutants out of our rivers, streams, and lakes. Huge thanks to SWCA, the volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who made this summer meaningful for these future tradespeople.

We loved being part of it and can’t wait to do it again next year!

The best part about the work we do is the meaningful impact we’re making to restore and protect the environment.

The second best part? The adventures we get to go on and the incredible places this work takes us. One week we’re on the coast doing invasive species control, and the next we’re in a river restoring natural habitat, often in some of the most beautiful and remote places.

With so much out of town work, we get to build strong bonds, create new friendships, and welcome new team members into the crew. We truly have the best team and the most fun vibes.
