Maplewood Neighborhood Association

Maplewood Neighborhood Association Maplewood Neighborhood was formed on May 17, 2012
We meet on the third Thursday of every other month

The Maplewood Neighborhood Association was established by the residents of our community to unite us in the common goal of bettering our neighborhood. We will combine our efforts to provide a safe environment and to encourage all residents to be active participants in improving our community as well as coming together often to collectively solve problems. As a team we will resolve issues, celebrat

e our successes, and form a group of individuals united in the same goal – Making our neighborhood a safe, healthy, and enjoyable place to live.

Join us for a Tree of Heaven Workshop on August 9 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
The Tree of Heaven is a fast-growing, invasive species that can quickly take over sites, damaging foundations and sewers 🌳🚫

Urban Forestry staff and a Neighborhood Tree Steward will lead a walk and talk about the tree. Learn how to identify the tree at various stages, how to report a sighting, best management practices for removal and treatment, and replanting options.

Register for the workshop at cityofvancouver.us/events/tree-of-heaven-workshop

Provide your comments to shape Vancouver’s plan for growth and development!

The City of Vancouver is currently updating its comprehensive plan, which influences a lot of things including:
• How where you live, work, and play in Vancouver could grow and change in the future.
• What kinds of housing, jobs, and amenities could be in Vancouver and where they are located.
• How safe and easy it is to get to different places in Vancouver.
• And more!

Now is an important time to get involved. Through the state-required environmental process, the City published a report, called a Draft Environmental Impact Statement also known as a Draft EIS, on July 8 for the public to review and comment on. The Draft EIS looks at how different alternatives for how we could grow and develop could affect our community and environment. It’s used to help consider potential impacts of the City of Vancouver's Comprehensive Plan Update before it is finalized and adopted.
