Up and Out takes its cues from a national organization striving to reach a tipping point to reduce poverty in our nation.

Close friends provide us with an emotional immunization from some of the suffering in life that we might experience otherwise. A good friend can give us comfort, guidance, perspective, and resources when we need it the most. Investing some of our 112 waking hours a week in developing and sustaining....

My graduate work has culminated in essential support for people in the community who WANT to exit poverty. The seeds of a non-profit are being planted in Vancouver, WA. I hope you will support this effort to empower people UP and OUT!

Up and Out connects people with opportunities for their voices to be heard in policies that directly affect their lives. An Up and Out participant who met with lawmakers on Housing and Homelessness Advocacy Day in Olympia got his picture in the local paper. He and other advocates are chanting Housing Justice Now!

Thank you to everyone who liked this page. On February 6, 2020, a group will gather to continue laying the foundation for building a better future story. We are committed people who have already graduated from "Getting Ahead in a Getting By World" and now will embark on 10 sessions to create goals in 11 essential resource areas.
