Caring for rescue animals is something I love deeply, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t exhausting. Right now, I’m caring for our remaining cats while also being 32 weeks pregnant, and I am mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted.
I love every single one of these cats. I want nothing more than to see each of them find a loving forever home. But some days, the constant cleaning, feeding, medications, messages, worrying, fundraising, and trying to make sure everyone is okay feels overwhelming.
There’s a lot of guilt that comes with rescue. You feel like you should always be doing more. Answering one more message. Helping one more animal.
I stopped taking in cats in May shortly after I found out I was pregnant. I made the responsible decision to stop intakes because I knew there would come a point where I would need to step away and focus on my baby. But even after stopping intakes months ago, we still have so many cats remaining in our care who are waiting for their forever homes.
My baby is going to be born with a birth defect, and after she is born, I will potentially be spending up to two months in the NICU with her while she recovers.
That reality weighs incredibly heavily on me.
I know that once my daughter arrives, my focus needs to be on her. But my heart is still going to be worrying about every cat who is waiting for me at home.
I love these cats. I have poured so much of myself into caring for them. I’ve cleaned, fed, medicated, scheduled vet appointments, answered messages, fundraised, worried, cried, celebrated adoptions, and done everything I possibly could to give them a better life.
I’m not sharing this for sympathy. I’m sharing it because I need people to understand why finding homes for these cats is so incredibly important to me right now.
I desperately want them settled into loving homes before my daughter is born.
I want to be able to sit beside my baby in the NICU and focus entirely on her recovery without constantly wondering who is caring for the cats, when I’ll be able to get home, or how much longer they will have to wait.
These cats have already waited so long.
And the good news is that we currently have FREE ADOPTIONS! ❤️🐾
All of our available cats have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated. They are ready to find their families and start the next chapter of their lives.
If you have been considering adopting, please consider one of our cats. You could change their entire life — and honestly, it would mean more to me than I could ever explain.
If you can’t adopt, please share their posts. Tag someone who might be looking for a new family member. Even a simple share could be what helps one of these babies find their forever home.
And if you would like to help us continue caring for the kitties who are still waiting, donations toward food, litter, and cleaning supplies are always needed and deeply appreciated. These are things we go through constantly while caring for our remaining cats.

Every adoption means one less cat for me to worry about and one more cat who gets the loving home they deserve. ❤️
If I seem tired, overwhelmed, or quieter than usual, please know it isn’t because I don’t care.
It’s because I care so much.
Rescue takes a piece of your heart every single day. Sometimes you just need to admit that you’re tired and allow yourself to breathe. ❤️🩹
I am doing everything I can.
I just need some help getting these babies home. 🐾❤️🩹
