Frank, Millie, Tillie and Hadley have all been vaccinated, dewormed, spayed or neutered and in Frank’s case had a hernia repaired, but that doesn’t slow him down at all!

Meet our groomer, Hilary Miller! Hilary has been a registered veterinary technician since 2014 and a professional groomer since 2015. Hilary completed her veterinary externship at an all exotic specialty where she worked with exotic pets and wildlife. She has since spent ten plus years in veterinary emergency and critical care. Hilary’s veterinary experience aids her in providing excellent care to her grooming clientele. She is able to provide grooming services to many species of animals including but not limited to dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, pot belly pigs, birds, lizards and tortoises.

When Hilary isn’t saving lives and pampering pets, she is the proud mother of three children and caretaker of spoiled dogs, cats, reptiles, rodents, avians, fish and insects. Hilary is a board member and active kitty foster parent with Salsa’s Legacy Rescue and assists with TNR in the community. She also volunteers with the local 4H dog club as an agility trainer. Hilary’s hobbies include reading, creative grooming, ballet, and playing board games.

We want to let everyone know that for the time being we are unable to assist with TNR or take in any new cats at our Van Wert location.

My little one made her arrival earlier than planned we knew prior to her arrival she would need time in the NICU due to her birth defect but we aren’t sure exactly how long we’ll be here. Her timeline depends on how her little body responds, how she continues recovering from surgery, and everything else she has going on.

I also had a C-section, so I have physical restrictions and need time to properly recover before I can safely return to trapping, transporting, or handling new intakes.

For now, Van Wert intakes and my ability to assist with TNR will be temporarily on hold while I focus on healing, being there for my daughter, and adjusting to life as a mom.

Thankfully, our amazing board member Hilary is still doing intakes at this time! She is located in Warsaw IN, so if you are interested in meeting any of the kitties in her care, please send us a message to set up a meet and greet. ❤️

And if you’re up for a little travel, J K Mega Pet in Wabash, IN also has some of our adoptable kitties waiting to meet their forever families! 🏡🐱

We know there are always cats who need help, and stepping back isn’t easy for me. But right now, my focus needs to be on my daughter and recovering from my C-section. Salsa’s Legacy Rescue isn’t going anywhere — this is simply a temporary pause while we navigate this chapter.

Once my little one is out of the NICU, I’ve had time to recover, and we’ve settled into our new routine, I hope to slowly begin helping again. 💗

🎉🐾 WE DID IT — 100 ADOPTIONS! 🐾🎉

Sunday, September 6, 2026 marked a very special day for Salsa’s Legacy Rescue — we processed our 100th adoption! ❤️

When Salsa’s Legacy Rescue began, our goal was simple: help animals in need and give them the opportunity to find safe, loving forever homes. Reaching 100 adoptions is an incredible milestone for our small, foster-based rescue.

We'd also like to celebrate the six most recent cats who found their forever homes:
