Our Hall of Fame wall, located just off the lower gymnasium entrance, has been updated after last weekend’s induction ceremony! It’s filling up fast, but plenty of room for our next class. Make sure you stop in and take a look the next time you’re in the school.

From the Hall of Fame committee - thank you to all the supporters of Crusader athletics for another successful induction ceremony. With your support, our Hall of Fame continues to carry out our mission to honor Crusaders of the past and inspire Crusaders of the future!

The Van Buren High School Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is scheduled for August 10, in the lower gymnasium. The Class of 2024 spans five decades of graduating classes. The class is composed of four women and four men, including two outstanding coaches. The Hall of Fame will also recognize the 1973 varsity boys soccer team, as they were winners of the school’s first ever regional championship, capturing the Eastern Maine Class B title that year. Also honored for recognition as a Crusader Contributor is Cecile Bouchard. The inductees are Glen Chasse - Class of 1977, Beth Cormier - Class of 1981, Megan Lajoie - Class of 2007, Leah Levasseur - Class of 1981, Nathan Marquis - Class of 1999, Lori Morrow - Class of 1996, John Parent - Class of 1966, and Mark Rossignol - Class of 1980.

The evening will once again feature memorabilia tables for each of the inductees, a catered meal with dessert, inductee speeches and awards, recognition for the outstanding team, as well as a few laughs.

We will look to recognize our generous sponsors, as without community support much of this endeavor would not be possible. There will be opportunities to continue support of the Hall of Fame with the $5 per ticket 50/50 raffle, commemorative t-shirt and blanket sales, as well as an opportunity to become a sponsor for the next class induction cycle.

Admission including meal can be purchased at the door for $25 dollars per person, and we ask those seeking to attend to email the Hall of Fame President Matt Rossignol ([email protected]) so we can maintain an accurate headcount for the meal.

We cannot wait to see you on August 10th as we induct the second class into the Van Buren High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
