Family Moments That Make a Difference

Family House was happy to partner with The hart Project this month.

The Hart Project collects handmade cards with uplifting messages from organizations and shares them with local assisted living facilities to brighten the days of residents.

During supervised visitations at Family House, our families embraced the chance to give back and let their creativity shine. This activity allowed families to share meaningful moments together while modeling values of kindness and community care.

We extend our thanks to our intern, Arianna, for coordinating this effort and to our families for their generosity in bringing moments of joy to others.

Hey guys! The March turnout was so good for St.Patrick’s Day Cards!

Thank you everyone 🫶🏼

I unfortunately forgot to take pictures of the cards and they were so good!

One of the places I collaborate with are unable to do cards for April because of spring enrollment. They make so many cards for me and I’m very thankful!

With that, I will not have as many cards as I need for the nursing homes.

If anyone is interested in making cards for The hART Project feel free to get in contact with me.

I’m open to anything as far as daycares, afterschool programs, community members, etc! Feel free to DM me and we can work something out!

We will be doing card pickups/meet ups around March 10th! If anyone would like to make cards for The hART Project send me a DM. Any cards are appreciated. This month we’re trying to incorporate St.Patrick’s Day cards to be festive! ☘️💚

This month has been the biggest month for card donations! Hilltop, The Boys & Girls Club, a Girl Scouts Troop, Alex (who makes her own cards) & friends all participated. Ages 4 and 5 at Hilltop even made heart magnets! I brought the cards to Aviva Valparaiso this evening in time for Valentine’s Day tomorrow. ❤️

Fun fact: I LOVE Valentine’s Day because I’m a huge lover girl. I love love and feel like everyone needs to be appreciated. That’s a major reason I started The hART Project! 🥰

I’m overwhelmed with the love and support I’ve gotten from community members, friends and family! You guys helped me triple my card collection for the month of February so far. Thank you to everyone 🫶🏼

The hART Project is small organization that collects handmade cards created by community members and delivers them monthly to nursing homes here in Valparaiso.

Our mission is to spread joy and encouragement to nursing home residents by delivering cards created by volunteers who want to share their creativity and positive energy! Each card is a small reminder that they’re loved!

I started off small in December by working with 2 local daycare centers in Valparaiso. My goal for 2026 is to expand in order to bring in more cards! I would love to get in touch with more daycares, afterschool programs, art centers, friends and family! If you or anyone you know may be interested in providing cards for The hART Project feel free to get in touch. ❤️🎨

Today was my FIRST delivery to Life Care Center of Valparaiso! Huge shout out to Wendy's Learning Tree Valparaiso & Hilltop Neighborhood House for all of the cards the kiddies made! I decided to share some cards made because they’re so cutie!!! ❤️🎨
