🌍 The Uniquely Abled Academy is officially international! 🇴🇲✨

We’re excited to share a major milestone for the Uniquely Abled Project: our first program outside the United States is officially underway in Oman!

The inaugural cohort of 10 students began hands-on CNC training at German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) on September 20th, marking the first UAA program in the Middle East and North Africa.

As we celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we’re especially proud to see this new pathway toward meaningful careers for people with disabilities take shape. 💙

We’re grateful to all of the partners making this milestone possible and can’t wait to follow the journey of our first international UAA cohort! ✨

👋 Meet Melissa, Aidan, and David, three students sharing their experiences from the Uniquely Abled CNC Operator Program at MiraCosta College.

For Melissa, the program helped build confidence in skills she didn’t know she was capable of.

After discovering machining, David knew he’d found something he enjoyed. His advice to others considering the program?

“Just two words, do it.” 😎

This summer, Uniquely Abled Academy host site Hudson Valley Community College put on two Inclusive Manufacturing Bootcamps funded by SparkForce, The FMA Foundation, introducing participants to CNC machining! ✨

Their grant period is now open and is a great opportunity to bring hands-on manufacturing experiences to more young adults with unique abilities.
