Local Candidates Forum

As we gear up for midterm elections, VCI and its members will have a lot to do if we want to have a positive impact on the results. That's why we have invited Rayellen Smith, President of Indivisible Albuquerque, to come and speak with us about how to make the most of what we have to build a stronger, more effective resistance here in Valencia County. In addition to her long-term leadership of New Mexico's largest and most successful Indivisible chapter, Rayellen's vast experience as a political activist gives her a unique perspective on what works and what doesn't for groups of ALL sizes. Her work is known and respected throughout New Mexico, and her presentation at the New Mexico Indivisible gathering last summer was both informing and energizing.

At the same time, primaries are right around the corner on June 2nd. So we are inviting a select roster of candidates for county and state offices to join us for a Local Candidates Forum (we'll let you know who has RSVP'd next week). Each will briefly make their pitch, then make themselves available for further questions in smaller breakout groups as the formal meeting comes to a close. VCI is not endorsing any of these candidates or any one party -- we believe good people and good ideas can come from anywhere. We just want to give you the chance to obtain all the information you need to make the right choice!

Please bring non-perishable food items and/or gently-used clean clothing for donation to a local organization (to be named shortly). Our members have been generous givers, but the need is great and ongoing!
