Jacob’s Forever Story 🐾

Jacob’s story started with abandonment, injury, and being left to fend for himself.

But then, a community member saw him. They advocated for him. They refused to let him be forgotten.

That’s when Red Collar Rescue & Recovery got involved.

We trapped Jacob and got him to safety—but our work with At-Risk strays is only possible when a committed 501(c)(3) rescue or animal shelter raises their hand and says, “YES. We’ll take him.”
And The Animal League of Green Valley (TALGV) said YES to Jacob. ❤️

They gave this sweet boy a safe place to decompress, heal, learn, grow, and simply be a dog again.
And now?

Jacob is ready. 🐾

He’s a super sweet, funny, playful boy with so much personality—and he is absolutely ready to love a family of his own.

From being injured and abandoned… to being safe… to discovering toys, playtime, and the joy of being cared for… Jacob has come so far.

Now he just needs someone to take the next step with him.

Ghost’s Story Isn’t Over — It’s Just Beginning. 🖤

Just days ago, Ghost was navigating an active mine site, alone and vulnerable.

Today, she is safe. 🐾

Ghost has been rescued and is now in a safe, loving environment where she can decompress, rest, and simply be a dog. She is being well cared for, and we are giving her the time and space she needs to feel secure and settle into this new chapter.

She is not ready for Meet & Greets just yet.
And that’s okay. ❤️

Right now, Ghost doesn’t need to meet anyone. She needs to know she is safe.

When she is ready to take that next step, we will let you know.

For now, we hope you’ll celebrate this part of Ghost’s story with us:
From an active mine site… to safe.
From surviving… to decompressing.
From alone… to cared for.
This is just the beginning of Ghost’s journey.

We are still not giving up on this little pup and are asking for everyone in Vail to be vigilant in CHECKING YOUR RING CAMERAS, CHECK YOUR YARDS, if you have a view fence or anywhere that a pup could find a hiding spot. If you see this dog - please call/text the number ASAP and provide specifics on the sighting and location! Let's help this family bring this little one home!

He was dumped on a busy road — injured, scared, and left behind by the very people he trusted most. Cars rushed past him. No one stopped.

Until one community member did.

That single moment of compassion set everything in motion.

With The Animal League of Green Valley committing to take him in, and Red Collar moving carefully in the field, this terrified boy finally let hunger outweigh fear. One of the quickest— trapping situations we’ve ever been part of.

We’re not a traditional rescue.

We don’t intake. We trap & recover.

And on this day, it meant giving a discarded dog a second chance.

Grateful for the eyes that noticed him.
Grateful for the partnership that stepped up.
Grateful he’s finally safe.

We are A Lifeline for the Lost — guiding pet owners through one of the hardest journeys they’ll ever face. From field trapping fearful or injured dogs to one‑on‑one consulting that teaches proven recovery techniques, our team shows up with skill, compassion, and grit.

Southern Arizona is stronger because of volunteers who give their time, their heart, and their courage.

WE ARE SO EXCITED TO ADD TO OUR TEAM!! This role is FILLED!

🐾 We are a humane dog‑trapping and rescue team serving Southern Arizona, focused on reuniting owner‑lost dogs and saving at‑risk abandoned dogs.

As a registered 501(c)(3), we’re growing — and so is our impact.
We’re currently seeking a Volunteer Case Intake Coordinator to support our rescue operations.

This role is fully remote and open to anyone in the country.
Trapping experience isn’t required — but it’s definitely the icing on the cake.

We’re looking for someone who is confident with technology, strong in scheduling and organization, compassionate and effective in communication, and brings team spirit and a positive attitude to every interaction.
