MedKite was created to bring together leaders and volunteers with various medical and non-medical backgrounds who share a passion and desire to reach out to communities and individuals in need. Our mission is to provide community assistance, medical care, supplies and education to medically underserved communities through volunteer, sponsorship and donation. Members are given the opportunity to make a huge impact in the community and the lives of its citizens. We strive to enhance the health and lives of those local communities by:
-Providing direct medical care
-Identifying prevalent morbidities and health concerns within the community
-Providing education and training to the local citizens
-Promoting enhanced knowledge of various health care concerns and management so to enable improved patient outcomes and provide the community with greater independence towards a self-sustaining health care system
-Organizing educational clinics and seminars focused on topics such as basic wound care, CPR, hygiene, oral health, basic first aid training, nutrition, prenatal health, identifying disease risk factors and disease prevention, treatment and management.
-Creating fun, educational health seminars and discussion geared towards children and teens
-Distribution of medical supplies and other various donated items such as clothing, shoes, books, toothbrushes, used reading glasses and basic first aid kits.
