For many veterans, a service dog becomes far more than a highly trained partner — they become a best friend.

On National Best Friends Day, we celebrate the incredible bond between veterans and their service dogs. Through every challenge, every outing, and every victory, these dogs provide companionship, confidence, comfort, and unwavering support.

A service dog is always there to lean on, walk beside, and face the world together — to prove that sometimes the very best friends have four paws.

At Puppy Jake Foundation, caring is at the heart of everything we do. From puppy raisers and volunteers to trainers and veterans, it takes an entire community of compassionate people to help prepare future service dogs for the life-changing partnerships ahead.

National Trails Day® is your chance to get outdoors, connect with your community, and give back to the trails you love. This year, we’re empowering everyone to become trail stewards on any trail, anywhere.

Keep in mind, fleas and ticks are especially active this time of year, especially in tall grass, wooded areas, and along trails. Be sure your pet is up to date on flea and tick prevention, check them thoroughly after outdoor adventures, and talk with your veterinarian about the best protection options for your dog.
