After the catastrophic floods back in August, families in Nepal are living with uncertainty, grief, disrupted routines, and the long process of rebuilding. For many, the emotional weight of the disaster may be just as heavy as their practical needs.

Let’s pray that God brings peace amid fear and uncertainty, and gives people strength for each day.

Please pray with us for peace, endurance, and hope for the people of Nepal.

One of the biggest reasons we don’t encourage people is that we assume we don’t have much to give. We think we need more knowledge, more experience, better words, or some special ability before God can really use us.

But most of the time, people don’t need you to have all the answers. They need your availability. They need someone who will listen, care, pray, speak truth, and help them take the next step.

You may be underestimating what God can do through a phone call, a note, a conversation, or simply taking the time to notice someone who feels overlooked. You have more to give than you think.

Ask God today, “Who needs what You’ve already put in me?”

A hard conversation can be one of the most loving things you do for someone.

Someone moving in a harmful direction may need a warning:

“Warn those who are idle, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.”
1 Thessalonians 5:14 NIV

If you see a friend making choices that hurt their marriage, damage their relationships, or pull them away from God, your love for them may require an honest conversation.

To love someone as God loves us means sharing hard truths for the good of their life, heart, and faith. But remember, any hard truths you share need to come from a place of humility, patience, and genuine concern.

If you're feeling this right now for a loved one, ask God to help you speak at the right time and in a way that makes your love for them unmistakable.

People are hurting far more than you know, and far more than they show.

It doesn’t take much to be an encouragement to those around you.

What it takes is availability, not ability.

It takes heart and love, not much skill or knowledge.

You have far more to offer than you know.

Will you reach out to one person today who feels overlooked?

Humility is often misunderstood. It isn’t thinking too highly of yourself, and it isn’t thinking too lowly of yourself. It’s seeing yourself accurately before God.

Real humility has a kind of self-forgetfulness to it. Instead of constantly evaluating yourself, comparing yourself, protecting your image, or needing to be noticed, your attention shifts toward God and toward others.

And that’s why humility is so essential to authentic community.

You can’t really lift others up if you’re constantly asking, “How am I being perceived?” You can’t love people practically if every relationship is filtered through what you’re getting from it. Humility frees you to notice what someone else needs, to celebrate their progress, to listen without making the conversation about yourself, and to serve without needing recognition.

The most humble people usually aren’t preoccupied with whether they seem humble. They’re too focused on loving God, caring for people, and asking, “How can I help this person take the next step?”

Ask yourself honestly today: in my relationships, how much of my energy goes into how I'm being perceived? Bring that to God, and let Him turn your attention toward the people right in front of you.

Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

Hebrews 13:5b-6

When you look back over your life, can you point to people who saw something in you that you couldn’t yet see in yourself?
People who encouraged you, challenged you, taught you, and sometimes corrected you. God used them to help shape the person you would become.

That’s one of the great privileges we have in relationships.

You may be the person God wants to use to help someone see beyond their present circumstances. You can help them believe they can become who He created them to be.

Sometimes it’s a word. Sometimes it’s your time. Sometimes it’s simply showing up consistently and believing in them before they believe in themselves.

If you want to bring out the best in someone, don’t just point out what’s wrong. Help them see where God is taking them, speak truth into the place that matters most, and affirm every step of real progress.

The people serving in Nepal’s disaster zones need our prayers.

Military personnel, rescue teams, medical workers, relief organizations, churches, local leaders, and neighbors have been working in extraordinarily difficult conditions. Some are searching dangerous terrain. Others are delivering food and clean water, caring for the injured, or helping families find somewhere safe to stay.

And many of them have been doing it for weeks.

Let’s ask God to renew their strength.

Pray for clear judgment when decisions have to be made quickly, protection in areas where slopes and roads remain unstable, and enough people and resources to reach those who still need help.
