Tomorrow is the big day! Please come out and join us for a beautiful day on Oquaga Lake in Deposit!

Saturday, 8/15/2026, is our annual 5K walk and run around the lake beginning at 10 AM! Same day registration starts at 9 AM. If you are not up for the walk or run, join us at the The Chestnut Inn on Oquaga Lake for an after party with food, live music, basket raffles and great views! The party will begin around 11 AM as the participants finish but the band will start at 10 AM.

We would like to remind everyone that this Saturday (8/15/2026) is the Eastern Broome Emergency Services Annual 5K Walk / Run around Oquaga Lake beginning at 10 AM!

Oquaga Lake Road will be closed between Golf Course Road and Hanson Road from approximately 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM on Saturday.

Traffic around Oquaga Lake will be down to one lane and all vehicular traffic will need to travel around the lake in a counter clockwise direction.

We will have Firefighters and E.M.S. Providers around the lake to assist with traffic control. This single lane traffic pattern will be in effect from approximately 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday.

⚠️The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Flash Flood Warning for...⚠️

Broome County in central New York...
Southwestern Chenango County in central New York...
Southeastern Tioga County in central New York...
Western Susquehanna County in northeastern Pennsylvania Until 1130 PM EDT.

🔹At 830 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain has already fallen and another round of intense rainfall is entering the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

🔹HAZARD: Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

🔹SOURCE: Radar indicated.

🔹IMPACT: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

🔹Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Binghamton, Johnson City, Endicott, Montrose, Greater Binghamton Airport, Vestal, Kirkwood, Conklin, Rush, Coventry, Greene, Hallstead, Whitney Point, Windsor, New Milford, Afton, Great Bend, Little Meadows, Friendsville and Brackney.

🔹PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
