What is Extra Help? Medicare’s Extra Help program helps people with limited income and resources ($23,475/year or $31,725/couple in 2025) cover Medicare Part D prescription drug costs. It reduces drug premiums, deductibles, and coinsurance, and can remove the Part D late enrollment penalty. Even if you believe your income or resources exceed the limits, you could still qualify for Extra Help, as some assets are not counted.
