"People pass over food that's perfectly good because it doesn't look quite right, that's too small, or there's a mark on it. All that food ends up in landfills unless there's a deliberate choice to divert it to where it needs to go," Table to Table Executive Director Heather Thompson said during a recent appearance on Think Tank with Steve Adubato.
Heather and Steve spoke about our mission and how we're working with food vendors, restaurants, farms, and others to help save as much of the estimated 3 BILLION pounds of food that is wasted in New Jersey annually.

His highly acclaimed restaurants Tatiana by Chef Kwame, Dogon DC, and Maroon Las Vegas all maintain the status of the toughest reservation to get in their respective cities.

🥕🫛 ENOUGH FRUITS & VEGETABLES TO FEED AN ARMY 🍅🍆
We rescued seven boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables from Richfield Farms and Garden Center in Clifton recently. A dedicated I-Rescue volunteer picked up the food and delivered it to The Salvation Army USA's Passaic location, who will distribute it to our hungry neighbors.
Donations like this help us bridge the gap between food waste and food insecurity in northern New Jersey. They only take 1 hour using our I-Rescue App.

The New Jersey Office of the Food Security Advocate, is presenting the statewide conference, which aims to bring together food security advocates, community leaders, government partners, health and education professionals, and other changemakers committed to ensuring that all New Jerseyans can access adequate, affordable, available, and nourishing food. 🥕🫛🥩

Heather attended the conference in 2024 and last year. Both events allowed attendees to learn the latest happenings regarding food security in New Jersey, connect with colleagues, and reaffirm their mutual commitment to advancing food security for ALL our New Jersey neighbors.
