Table to Table rescues fresh, healthy surplus food that would otherwise be wasted and delivers it to agency partners, including soup kitchens, homeless shelters and senior facilities that serve nutritious meals to the hungry. Table to Table is a community based food rescue program that collects prepared and perishable food that would otherwise be wasted and delivers it to organizations that serve

the hungry in Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Passaic counties. We “rescue” food from over 150 donors (supermarkets, distributors, restaurants) and deliver it the same day free of charge to over 200 community organizations including soup kitchens, homeless shelters, after-school programs and homes for the elderly.

We are deeply grateful to The Horizon Foundation for its generous support of Table to Table’s I-Rescue App — an innovative, technology-driven solution that mobilizes volunteers to rescue fresh food and deliver it directly to local community organizations across northern New Jersey.

With their support, we continue to expand school cafeteria food rescue programs, increase prepared food rescues from caterers and events, grow volunteer engagement, and strengthen community-driven efforts around food sustainability and hunger relief.

Together, we are rescuing more food, reducing waste, and nourishing more neighbors and helping to build healthier, stronger communities.

You can make a real impact this summer by volunteering with our I-Rescue App. Satisfy volunteer service hours by rescuing fresh, nutritious food and delivering it to neighbors facing food insecurity across northern New Jersey.

In 2021, we began a partnership with Food Rescue Hero that transformed the way we operate – leveraging their incredibly innovative technology platform, developed by a team with hands-on food recovery experience, to launch our I-Rescue App.
Since then, the platform has empowered over 1,000 volunteers here in New Jersey to rescue and deliver enough food for more than 5 million meals – and counting!
Fast forward five years – we are thrilled to share that we’re taking our partnership with Food Rescue Hero to the next level – joining forces to build the platform’s capabilities to support fleet rescue operations, and adding functionality to “match” each rescue in real-time to community partners based multiple factors.
Our goal is always to bring the right foods, to the right partners, at the right times – and this project will be a huge leap forward in that endeavor, not only for us, but ultimately for the entire Food Rescue Hero network.
We are deeply thankful to the New Jersey Food Fund for investing in this project, and to the team at Food Rescue Hero for being amazing partners and collaborators every step of the way. This is what we can accomplish when we bring great people and great tech together for good!
