The Eugene/Springfield branch formed in 1976 creates political, educational, social, and economic equality

Since 1976, the Eugene/Springfield NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) has served as a source of cohesion for our local communities of color. In Lane County, our primary activities include implementation of education programs, public awareness events, community building, and coalition work towards cultural inclusion. Additionally, the Eugene/Springfield NAACP provides support to other regional offices.

Join the Eugene-Springfield NAACP on Wednesday, October 21, for an evening of community updates, officer election introductions, and an informative discussion on legal redress and access to legal aid services in Oregon.

We’ll hear from guest speaker Sybil Hebb, Director of Legislative Advocacy at the Oregon Law Center, who will share insights on the role of legal aid in supporting low-income communities across Oregon.

This meeting is open to everyone! Come learn more about our work, connect with community members, and meet the candidates running for Branch office in the November 19 election. Please note that only current NAACP members will receive a ballot to vote in the officer election.

NAACP Eugene-Springfield President Demond Hawkins will join local organizers and community members at No Kings: Vote Early, a community gathering at Eugene City Hall Plaza focused on voting rights, election protection, and immigrant justice. Demond will speak about the work in front of us here in Lane County, where protecting civil rights means making sure our neighbors have accurate voting information, know their rights, and have meaningful ways to participate in the decisions that shape our communities.

Music from Democrasonics and Singing Resistance, voter registration and election protection resources, community action tables, sign waving, a costume party, and fundraising to support immigrant justice.

NAACP Eugene-Springfield is proud to join Friends Organizing for Racial Justice, Lane County United for Immigrant Justice Network, Indivisible Eugene/Springfield, League of Women Voters of Lane County, 350 Eugene, and neighbors from across the community for an afternoon rooted in local action and collective care. What a night. Our 50th Anniversary Freedom Fund Dinner was sold out, filled with community, music, celebration, and a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish together.
