Thank you to all who joined us tonight at SBSO's 90th: An Ode To Joy to celebrate the joy of music and the incredible things that we are capable of when we come together as one. A huge thanks to our incredible musicians, the Saginaw Choral Society, our guest vocalists, Saginaw Bay Youth Orchestra for the prelude in the lobby, our sponsors and donors who made tonight possible, and to all of you. Baritone Ryne Cherry brings a powerful combination of vocal depth, dramatic presence, and versatility to the stage, with performances spanning opera, oratorio, and contemporary works.

His recent appearances include Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Handel’s Messiah, and productions with Boston Baroque and Boston Lyric Opera. Opera audiences may recognize him from roles such as the Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, and Tomsky in The Queen of Spades.

Internationally acclaimed Heldentenor Thomas Studebaker joins the SBSO stage as the tenor soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.

His career has included performances with the New York Philharmonic, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera, and Lyric Opera of Chicago, along with major Wagnerian roles such as Siegmund in Die Walküre. Known for the power and dramatic intensity of his voice, he has appeared on renowned stages from Carnegie Hall to Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.

Saginaw native Emily Marvosh brings a rich contralto voice, refined musicianship, and a commanding stage presence to every performance.

Her recent appearances include leading ensembles such as the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Handel and Haydn Society, with performances spanning major venues across the country. She has earned national recognition, including the American Prize in Oratorio and Art Song and the Adams Fellowship at the Carmel Bach Festival.

She also performs regularly with ensembles like The Thirteen and the GRAMMY-nominated Lorelei Ensemble, known for their work with today’s composers.

Soprano Catherine Moss joins the SBSO stage for SBSO's 90th: An Ode To Joy with acclaimed roles including the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, and Norina in Don Pasquale. Her performances have also earned honors from the University of Michigan Friends of Opera Competition and le Gala de la Voix.
