We have brought our exclusive HEAL storytelling curriculum to schools, corporate offices, churches, and community meetings. Now we want to bring it to YOUR community!

The idea is simple: leverage firsthand accounts of homelessness to break the stigma of homelessness.

By meeting individuals who have lived through homelessness, the perspectives within your workplace, team, or classroom will undoubtedly change, leading to the creation of a transformative and new narrative that fosters empathy and connection.

Winter Walk centers the voices of people with lived experience, with the belief that the first step to ending homelessness is to end the stigmas associated with it.

We are honored when our neighbors with lived experience chose our Winter Walk fundraising events as a place to share their stories.

This past year, our NYC Lived Experience Keynote speaker was Dr. Deogratias “Deo" Niyizonkiza. In the 1990s, Deo escaped his home country's civil war, arrived in New York city, became homeless and was eventually taken in by an American couple who helped support his education at Columbia University.

Paulina is the Executive Director of Winter Walk, is a nationwide “Walk-With” movement powered by The MoreHomes Coalition that unites everyday people to raise critical funds for local nonprofits working to support people experiencing homelessness and move them into stable housing. She leads the organization’s national expansion which unites communities to end homelessness through fundraising, education, compassion, and action.

Funds raised during Winter Walk help provide vital services and resources to homeless 18-24-year-olds staying at Y2Y's HSQ.
