Excited for the first ever LBB Accessibility Consultation!

In an effort to make their space accessible as possible, Goodwood Museum and Gardens reached out to us and requested an Accessibility Consultation. We were thrilled to oblige!

We were provided a private tour of the buildings and grounds, and we offered suggestions and recommendations throughout.

Goodwood Museum and Gardens is our Blind Friendly Business Training workplace location for July, and we are excited to return to provide this valuable training to their staff and volunteers. If you would like us to provide this training to your staff, reach out to us!

LBB’s Assistive Technology Specialist, John Ryan, recently received a Screen Reader Certification from the Florida Department of Education Division of Blind Services! Congratulations John for your hours of hard work making this happen!

This Certificate of Endorsement translates to John being an expert at teaching screen reading software on all devices. Screen reading software includes Text to Speech, JAWS (Job Access With Speech), Voice Over, TalkBack, and Windows Narrator. The devices he is now proficient in teaching are computers, iPhone, Android, MacBooks, iMac and Apple Air - just to name just a few. Not to mention, John is an excellent teacher with an exceptional level of patience.

Free Hurricane Preparedness Distribution Event for Leon County on June 6th!

Keep your family safe this hurricane season! Join Farm Share, in partnership with Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), for the Annual Hurricane Preparedness Distribution on Saturday, June 6, 9:00 a.m. at the Leon County Health Department, 2965 Major James Jr. Way.

They will be providing free essential hurricane supplies, such as water, emergency blankets, flashlights and headlamps, and MREs (Meals Ready to Eat), to help families prepare and stay resilient before disaster strikes.
