Team Tampa Bay Missions Inc. We are a small FL based 501(c)(3), currently we lead medical mission trips to Dominican Republic Team Tampa Bay took its first Mission Trip in June of 2010.

Our mission is to provide medical care and education to underserved communities at home and around the world. The group is made up of various medical and non-medical volunteers from across the country that have been working together to provide medical, dental, and family planning clinics in the Bateys of La Romana, Dominican Republic. The Bateys are small villages in remote areas which house sugar

cane workers and their families. The care we provide is all at little to no cost for the people. We travel with all the supplies needed in order to setup clinics on the spot in churches or schools at each Batey. We typically treat 500-600 people throughout our week of work. For many of us La Romana has become a second home and a family we graciously serve beside. After six years of trips, a group of the dedicated volunteers decided to embark on the journey of starting a nonprofit. Our hope is to expand the trips and volunteer opportunities, as well as add more of a focus on education in addition to medical care. We became incorporated as Team Tampa Bay Missions Inc. in January of 2016 and are registered as a non-profit under 501(c)(3). Through the years we have learned when you go out on Mission with the intention of helping others to better their lives, you never expect to be bettering your own life in the process. We witness the strength, hope & happiness shine through everyone we meet throughout our trip each year. "It's a life changing experience" seems to have become the common theme amongst our first time volunteers for our trips.

Help us bring shoes for our trip next year! The Shoe that Grows made by can make such a huge difference. “Over 1.5 billion people suffer from soil transmitted diseases worldwide. Without shoes, children are especially vulnerable to diseases, parasites and injury. Children who get sick or injured miss school, can’t help their families, and suffer needlessly. And since children’s feet grow so quickly, they often outgrow donated shoes within a year, leaving them once again exposed.” In order to go to school, every kid in the Dominican Republic needs to have black shoes. These shoes fill that need and also grow with the kid up to 5 sizes! This is so life changing to help their health and education. We want to bring 250 pairs or more, can you help us? The fundraiser link is in our bio.

So incredibly thankful! We served 96 patients today in Barrio Santa Fe near San Pedro. That is a total of 490 in the 5 days of clinic. Again this would not be possible without our incredible teams (from the US and here in the DR) or without the support of so many family members and friends. We are tired and emotions are all over the place but our emotional buckets are overflowing.

It has been a busy end to our trip. Yesterday in clinic we saw 69 patients at Batey Magdalena, including a house call to a 98 year old woman that we are coordinating to get her a walker. There were so many babies that we got to snuggle 😍 (more photos to come).
