🐾 Meet One of Our Latest Rescues: Gwyneth! 🐾

Every cat who comes into our care has a story, and we’re happy to share a little about Gwyneth's. 💙

Approx. DOB: 10/06/2025

Gwyneth’s story began with a call from someone who said this sweet orange-and-white girl was begging to come inside their home. Unfortunately, they wouldn’t let her in and wanted her gone as soon as possible.

When Gwyneth arrived, she was loaded with fleas, and her skin was pretty scabby. She has since been spayed and is now settling into a foster home where she can get the care and comfort she needs.

And what a love bug she is! ❤️ Gwyneth spent the ride home dozing off, purring, and making biscuits the entire way. Apparently, sitting beside you just isn’t close enough for this girl. She likes to climb right up your body so she can perch on your shoulders!

We’re so glad Gwyneth is safe, loved, and getting a fresh start. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this sweet girl. 🐾

Every rescue deserves a chance at a better tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who helps make that possible for cats like Zoodle and Gwyneth! 💙

It’s Make a Difference Monday! 🧡 Some gifts help today. Others can help Whiskers care for cats for many years to come.

🧡 Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are one of the easiest and most tax-efficient ways to support Whiskers. A DAF is a charitable account that you open through a financial institution — such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or a local community foundation. You contribute cash, stocks, or other assets to your DAF, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to Whiskers.

🧡 Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) are another powerful way to give — especially for supporters age 70½ or older. With a QCD, you can donate directly from your IRA to Whiskers, up to $100,000 per year, without counting the gift as taxable income. It’s a smart way to meet your required minimum distribution while helping provide food, shelter, and medical care for cats.

🧡 By including Whiskers in your estate planning, you can provide essential needs like food, shelter, and medical care to cats for years to come. There are various ways to establish a planned gift, such as:

• Bequests in Your Will — designate a specific amount or percentage of your estate to Whiskers
• Living Trusts — include Whiskers as a beneficiary in your trust arrangements
• Life Insurance Policies — name Whiskers as a beneficiary to extend your support beyond your lifetime

For more ways to give, please visit: https://ewhiskers.com/planned_giving
Always talk with your financial advisor or tax professional to determine what works best for your situation.

🧡 When you’re thinking about estate planning, don’t forget your kitties. 🐈 Whiskers' Lifetime Commitment program can give you peace of mind and lifetime care for your cat. https://www.ewhiskers.com/content/whiskerslifetimecommitment

Adoption Updates are the Best! 💕

One of the best parts of rescue is getting updates from adopters and seeing our former residents thriving in the homes they deserve. Today, we’re sharing happy updates on three very special Whiskers alumni!

🐈‍⬛ Tuxie was found outside in Albany this past May, cared for by kind people who made sure he had food. This sweet FIV+ boy found his forever home in September as an only cat, just the way he likes it! 😹 His adopters say he’s getting comfortable, snuggling on the couch, and keeping a close eye on the neighborhood through the window. His other hobbies include waking his humans at 4 a.m. to play. Because apparently, sleep is optional!

🐈 Gussie, now Cleo, sadly lost her humans and home in a house fire in 2025. A good Samaritan found her in April 2025, and she was adopted this January as an only cat, also just how she prefers it! Her adopters have shared several lovely updates, telling us she has settled in beautifully, is doing fantastic, and is the “sweetest thing.” We couldn’t be happier for this beautiful girl! ❤️

🐈‍⬛ Marcus has had more than his share of heartbreak, having been adopted and returned multiple times through no fault of his own. We shared his story again last September, and by November, he had found his people! His humans absolutely adore him and keep us updated often. He loves having them home, happily socializes with their guests, and has claimed his rightful place in the bed. (Who needs personal space when you have a cat? 😂)

These happy endings make the heartbreaking rescues and difficult returns worth it. There’s nothing better than seeing cats who have been through so much finally thriving, feeling safe, and being loved and cherished exactly as they deserve. 🥹💗

Thank you to everyone who has opened their heart and home to a shelter cat, especially those who have adopted from Whiskers! You make these happy endings possible.

Have you adopted a cat from Whiskers? We’d LOVE to see them living their best lives! Share your photos and updates in the comments. Let’s fill this post with happy cats and happy tails! 🐾💕

Meet Scotty, Anabelle, and Gingerbread! 💕🐾

Looking for a new feline friend? Three wonderful cats are waiting to meet you at the East Greenbush PetSmart Adoption Center! Could your perfect match be among them? 🏡❤️

🐱 Scotty & Annabelle: This adorable bonded brother-and-sister duo was rescued from the streets of Albany this past summer. Born around April 1, 2026, these approximately six-month-old kittens love cuddling, being doted on, and playing. They've been side by side through so much, and now they're ready for a forever home where they can grow up together. They must be adopted as a pair! Double the purrs, double the fun, and double the love!

🍪 Gingerbread: This sweet girl traveled all the way from Kentucky, where she was rescued from a high-kill shelter in 2019. After being adopted through Animal Lovers, she sadly returned to Whiskers this year and is looking for another chance at forever. Her foster mom describes her as a super sweet girl who prefers a quieter household over a busy one. She gets along fine with cats and dogs as long as they respect her space. And yes, those adorable crossed eyes are all part of her unique charm! Born around April 24, 2018, Gingerbread is ready for a home where she can relax, feel safe, and be loved for exactly who she is.

Remember Millie, Tillie and Icicle? 💕

Three beautiful girls, three wonderful personalities, and three more reasons to visit the Clifton Park PetSmart Adoption Center this weekend! 🐾 Millie and Tillie are back, and Icicle is there, too. Could your future best friend or friends be waiting for you?

💕 Millie & Tillie are bonded sisters who came to Whiskers in February after their beloved owner passed away. They've been together since kittenhood and must be adopted together. Millie is an outgoing love bug whose purr motor starts the moment she sees you. She'll happily flop over for belly rubs and chin scratches! Tillie is her gentler, quieter sister who may take a little time to warm up, but once she feels safe, she's a sweet and affectionate cuddle buddy. These girls deserve a loving home where they can stay together. Approx DOB: 02/14/2023.

❄️ Icicle is a gorgeous, long-haired tabby who's ready to be treated like the queen she is! She may be a little shy at first, but she's quick to purr, loves being brushed, enjoys snuggles, and is working on becoming a lap cat. She's playful, gentle, independent, and full of personality. Icicle would do best with friendly cats or as your one and only. Dogs aren't her cup of tea! 😂 Approx DOB: 06/15/2024

These girls have so much love to give. We can't understand how they haven't found their forever homes yet! Could you be the one to change their stories? ❤️
