A BIG THANK YOU to former Camp Good Mourning! Board Member Meagan Hallworth for generously donating 6-12 packs of colored sand and 40 message-in-a-bottle kits for our campers!

This creative activity helps children identify the different emotions they are experiencing, recognize where they feel those emotions in their bodies, and express just how strongly they feel them.

Sometimes, finding the words to describe grief isn't easy. Activities like this give children another way to express what they're emotions.

Thank you, Meagan, for continuing to support Camp Good Mourning! and the children we serve! ❀️

We are truly humbled by an unexpected act of kindness from someone with a connection that goes back more than 10 years.

Many years ago, Darlene Patishnock volunteered alongside Camp Good Mourning! Founder Paul Rubin at another children’s grief camp. More than a decade has passed since they last saw or even spoke with one another.

Then, last night, these items unexpectedly appeared on our doorstep for Camp Good Mourning!

No fanfare. No expectation of recognition. Just an incredibly thoughtful act of kindness from someone who remembered the work, remembered the children, and chose to help.

There is something especially meaningful about kindness that finds its way back after so many years.

Darlene, we are so very grateful for your generosity and thoughtfulness. Thank you for thinking of Camp Good Mourning! and, most importantly, for thinking of our campers. ❀️ We hope to welcome you to Camp Good Mourning! one day so you can see firsthand how the work that once brought you and Paul together continues today.

Sometimes the most unexpected gestures are the ones that touch us the most.

Buhler? Buhler?

πŸ’™ SHOUT OUT to Susan Buhler for knowing what kids love and how to turn them into something meaningful.

Because of Sue's generosity, campers will have the opportunity to turn four constainers of beaded charms into beautiful Memory Bracelets in honor of someone they love and miss during Camp Good Mourning's! upcoming weekend. It's a fun, creative activity that also gives campers another special way to stay connected to their person. ❀️

Thank you, Sue, for always thinking of our campers and finding meaningful ways to make their camp experience even more special! ❀️
