Our mission is to help children overcome disadvantages to become the best champions of their own lives. Check out our upcoming events.

After watching a tv program about food insecurity and researching that it was happening in their community The Curtis family decided to help by contributing a solution directly where the children would be – in their schools. They recognized that teachers see food insecurity in their classrooms every day and try to find ways to combat it with their own resources. Ben and Candace partnered with a local elementary school principal to develop the Birdie Bag Program. A Birdie Bag contains non-perishable foods and a toiletry kit which is sent home with children in need weekly at regular intervals throughout the school year. Working alongside school principals ensures that all of our programs work for both the schools and our organization. It is vital for children to learn about good nutrition and have access to it. It’s not only a solid foundation for a child’s physical health, but for their mental health and academic potential. We’re always in need of volunteers to help us fill Birdie Bags each month and to help out at our events which raise awareness and the funds needed to beat food insecurity. We had a blast at Portage Gathers this past Sunday! 🧡

Thank you to the amazing community that showed up rain or shine to come together, connect, and learn more about the resources available throughout Portage County.

A huge shoutout to the incredible team that put this event together and created a space for our community to connect with local organizations and resources. Everyone deserves access to food and the support they need, and we’re grateful to be part of a community working together to make that possible.

We are incredibly grateful to the George L. and Genevieve D. Moore Trust of The Portage Foundation for their generous support of our Birdie Bag Program! 💙🧡

This funding is helping provide Birdie Bags to students facing food insecurity across the Portage County school districts we serve, helping ensure local children have food to take home on weekends throughout the school year.

We are so thankful for this continued investment in our mission and the children and families we serve throughout Portage County!

Birdie Bag Wednesday was amazing! 🧡 Our volunteers came together and efficiently packed 1,890 Birdie Bags into 40 bins to help support local children and families facing food insecurity.

A special thank you to American Pest Control, the Ladies of NewPointe Church - Canton, and the Greater Alliance Foundation for spending the morning volunteering with us! We love having groups come together to give back and make an impact in our community.

We are so grateful to the Kent Rotary Foundation for their generous grant supporting our Birdie Bag and A Very Merry Dinner Programs!

This past Wednesday, our amazing volunteers packed 2,010 Birdie Bags within 41 bins, helping provide meals and snacks to local children facing food insecurity. We are so grateful for everyone who joined us and helped make another successful pack possible!

You may notice a little extra orange in our pack photos! 🧡 Our volunteers wore orange in recognition of Hunger Action Month, helping raise awareness for food insecurity and the importance of supporting children and families in our community.
