OCTOBER HOPE HERO SPOTLIGHT: ALAN
This month, we're shining the spotlight on Alan, one of our amazing Budget Counselors!
Alan spent nearly 24 years with Ferrellgas, ultimately serving as CFO, so helping people navigate budgets is certainly not new territory for him! After retiring, Alan began volunteering with Hillcrest Hope in February, putting his years of accounting and finance experience to work helping our residents set goals, manage their finances, and stay on track.
Alan says working with residents has been incredibly rewarding, especially knowing he can make a difference in their lives. He jokes that while his approach to budgeting may be a little gentler with residents than it was with managers, his years of experience still serve him well!
Alan's wife, Kelley, supports Hillcrest behind the scenes by crocheting blankets, stuffed animals, and booties for the children of our residents.
