There is nothing quite like experiencing the impact of a mission in person. FoNR Board member Leslie recently visited the team in Kenya with a team from the US to see this vital work up close. From the bustling streets of Dagoretti to our lively Saturday Program, she witnessed firsthand the power of NRCF’s holistic support. We don’t just get kids into school; we provide the healthcare, meals, and life skills they need to thrive.

The absolute highlight of Leslie’s trip? Meeting 12 NRCF alumni now thriving as software engineers, entrepreneurs, and marketers. When asked what they valued most about the program, they didn’t just say financial aid. They spoke of the lifelong community and mentorship that stays with them well into adulthood.

What do you do when you’re captivated by the spirit of the children you meet in Nairobi? You find a way to return.

After first visiting NRCF in 2025 to meet Eliakim—the student that Anne and her husband sponsor- she was completely hooked. This past April, she returned to Nairobi as part of the 2026 board trip for a intense week of strategy, school tours, and high-energy “Crazy Games” with the students!

Anne reminds us that supporting even one child creates a massive ripple effect: “A single drop of water, through consistency and connection, can grow into a powerful force for change.”

Meet Our Post-Secondary Case Managers.
As a locally-led organization, our Case Managers are the backbone of our success, walking hand-in-hand with students to help them achieve their dreams.

Tunda (Senior Case Manager): Overcoming hurdles from her rural Maasai upbringing, she has dedicated 16 years to NRCF as a mentor, development studies graduate, and certified life skills coach. “We don’t just support children through education; we walk beside them as they discover their potential.”

George (Junior Case Manager): A former NRCF student who went on to earn his diploma in Community Development, George uses his unique firsthand experience to give back and guide the next generation. “I am humbled to contribute significantly to their academic and personal growth.”

Our team proves that when children are given education and support, they can transform the world around them.

Meet Michael, a JKUAT student who is transforming how universities communicate. After joining NRCF in 2018 and sharpening his skills in an intensive DirectEd coding bootcamp, Michael identified a major problem: “WhatsApp chaos” in academic settings.

Tired of seeing important notes and deadlines buried in endless group chats, Michael developed Semestra—a centralized platform for organized academic resource sharing.

Since its launch in April 2026, 18 classes at JKUAT have already signed up to modernize their learning experience! We are incredibly proud to see our alumni using their technical skills to build real-world solutions.

In 2007, Purity Mayodi was a young girl with big dreams but no clear path to school. Today, she is a Professional Chef at the prestigious Hotel in Kilimani, Nairobi!

Thanks to the support of the Ngong Road Children’s Foundation and the kindness of her sponsor, Purity transformed a life of struggle into a thriving career. She has moved from needing a helping hand to being the one who provides for her family.

The wait is officially OVER!

We are beyond excited to announce that our second group of 50 students has joined the NRCF family and is heading to school this May!

After waiting on our waitlist with big dreams, these 50 bright stars are now fully equipped with new uniforms, backpacks, and the support of our incredible community. From “waiting” to “starting,” the momentum of our “Here We Go” campaign is stronger than ever!

What comes next?

For many high school graduates, that question can be a bit scary. This April, we headed to the beautiful Lake Oloiden in Naivasha for our 2026 Career Camp: “Finding Your North.”

It was a week of deep connection and big dreams. From emotional heart-to-hearts by the lake with our US visitors, Naomi and Leslie, to moving mentorship sessions with our “PS Buddies,” our students realized they don’t have to navigate the future alone.

It wasn’t all serious, though! Between game drives at Hell’s Gate and a much-needed “Big Splash” in the pool, our graduates built a “quiet confidence” that they’ll carry into their next chapter.

After a refreshing April holiday, our students are officially heading back to school for Term 2! We spent the last few days ensuring every child is fully equipped and ready to succeed. From fresh stationery and notebooks to all the essential tools they need to tackle their lessons, we’ve made sure nothing stands in the way of their dreams.
