This week, we're at the Habitat for Humanity Affiliate Conference in Atlanta, GA! 🏡🛫

We're hearing from exciting speakers and celebrating Habitat for Humanity International's 50th anniversary, while also visiting some historic places in the area.

Our team visited Koinonia farm, the site where the core concepts that would eventually become Habitat for Humanity were developed. They also stopped by the Clarence Jordan building, home of the first Habitat for Humanity office, Jimmy Carter's presidential campaign headquarters, as well as Mother Allie's House, the childhood home of Rosalynn Carter.

A huge thank you to Norwood Development Group for donating dirt removal services at the Rising Moon development earlier this year!

This was no small task. Rising Moon began as an undeveloped 9-acre lot, and preparing the site for future homes required an incredible amount of work. Thanks to Norwood Development Group's generosity and partnership, we're one step closer to creating more affordable homeownership opportunity for local families.

“When I got the call [from Pikes Peak Habitat] that I was accepted, I cried. I called everyone and said ‘I got accepted! I got accepted!’”

Crystal, a Widefield School District 3 (WSD3) employee, will be purchasing the first of 41 homes inside the NEW Rising Moon neighborhood, which begins construction this year. Her home will be one of 14 homes set aside specifically for educators as part of our Housing for Educators program in partnership with Widefield School District 3 and Careers in Construction Colorado (CICC).
