🐾💔 WISHLIST WEDNESDAY – WE NEED YOUR HELP 💔🐾

Yesterday alone, our rescue took in seven 3-month-old puppies (with 5 more on the way Friday- look out for a post later about them) and six orphaned baby opossums after their mother was tragically killed by a dog. While we’re grateful to be able to step in and help, the reality is that our supplies are disappearing faster than we can replace them.

Right now, we are going through food at an overwhelming rate. Our most urgent need is puppy food of any brand, preferably free of artificial dyes since we’ve found they can cause stomach upset in many of our puppies.

We are also desperately in need of supplies for our wildlife rehabilitation program. This year, we’ve already successfully released five opossums back into the wild, and several more are preparing for release. Unfortunately, our newest babies are still very young and require constant care, specialized food, and safe housing.

Unlike our dogs and cats, wildlife rehabilitation comes with no adoption fees to help offset costs. Every dollar we spend on these animals is simply because they need us. We don’t get reimbursed when they recover—we just get the reward of watching them return to the wild where they belong.

Our most urgent needs for the opossums are:
🦝 Esbilac puppy milk replacer
🦝 Air dried cat food
🦝 Fresh fruit (dehydrated as well)
🦝 Small plastic hides for their enclosures

We never want to turn away an animal in need, but we can only continue saying “yes” with the support of our community. If you’ve ever considered helping, now is the time. Whether it’s donating supplies, sending a bag of food, or making a monetary donation, every contribution makes a direct difference in the lives of these puppies and orphaned babies.

Phil is already crate trained and is proving to be one smart little pup. With his intelligence and eagerness to learn, he’s going to be highly trainable and would excel with continued positive reinforcement and consistency.

This sweet boy loves to play, especially when there are balls and squeaky toys involved! After a fun play session, Phil is happy to soak up attention and spend time with his people.

Chai (FKA Peanut Butter) is ready to find his forever home! 🧡🐾

At just 8 months old, Chai is a sweet, loving, easygoing pup who loves everyone he meets, both people and dogs! He knows his basic commands, walks beautifully on leash, loves car rides, and is happiest when he’s with his people.

He is housebroken and crate trained. His ideal home would have a fenced yard, and another friendly dog to play with to get all of his energy out. Chai thrives on companionship and loves being part of the action! He would love a family that would take him on adventures

Midge & Millie Are Still Looking for Their Forever Home(s)! 🐾❤️

These two adorable girls are available for adoption either together or separately. While they aren’t considered a bonded pair, they absolutely adore each other, and we suspect they may be mother and daughter.

🐶 Midge (folded ears)
• 4 years old
• 10 pounds
• Spayed female
• Heartworm positive, currently undergoing treatment (fully covered by the rescue)

Midge recently suffered a wrist fracture and is currently sporting a cast, but she’s healing beautifully and will soon be good as new. This sweet southern lady prefers the slower things in life. Her favorite activities include curling up in your lap, soaking up affection, and spending quiet evenings snuggled on the couch watching TV with her person.

🐶 Millie (pointy ears)
• 1 year old
• 10 pounds
• Spayed female
• Heartworm negative

Millie is young, adventurous, and always ready for fun. She loves being outdoors, exploring new places, and running around playing. She would thrive with an active family or person who enjoys including their dog in everyday adventures.

Whether you’re looking for a calm cuddle buddy, an energetic sidekick, or a pair of lovable companions, Midge and Millie could be the perfect fit. They have so much love to give and are ready to find the forever homes they deserve.
